Goodbye AED

Yesterday, I cut up the sheet I previously made into strips that formed squares. I also made another sheet of horizontal strips which is drying and will be cut in a similar manner.
These are pages from the children's board book. I added another layer of paint. Then I sanded through the layers when the paint was dry. Because the first layer of paint is gesso, when I sand the colored layers, the gesso beneath shows through and makes the pages look "distressed." More will happen layer by layer to these pages.

So the Art Every Day challenge is over. I had fun especially seeing everyone else's art. I find it inspirational to envision everyone working on their projects from California to Europe. I am sure I will still be making crafts throughout the winter. I will post my progress here as it arises. Blessings to all and especially to Leah who was the hostess.

The book is interesting. What will it be used for when done? writing in or for looks? Will it be a gift or will you sell it?
I will keep checking to see whats new. Happy creating.

These surfaces are very interesting! Thanks for sharing the technique with the sanding, I think I'll try that some time, it looks great on your paper! Your colour choice is really good too!

I do hope the "end of the challenge month" does not mean the end of our sharing here. I have found your words and works to be very inspiring and supportive Suki.
I too intend to continue creating...and will NEED the feedback! I'll keep checking in on what you are doing here for sure.

The book making and paper making process facinates me. Fun to watch this grow.

Cris the book is decorative. In the past when I have made similar books they have a theme. I did one about meditation. One on the Virgin Mary. I don't know if this will have a theme or not.

Lynn, yes I hope we keep in touch even though AED is over. I enjoy hearing about you and your artwork and ditto for Cris, Elizabeth and Andrea. I think because our drawing group was so small we gained a stronger connection perhaps. Be well, Suki
