The day before the haircut. I had finally gotten the hair long enough to wear up like this which style I like very much. I wore my hair this way back in high school and college. However, it's too fussy. I like to wake up in the morning and run a comb through my hair and that's it.

Suki, I was just fighting with my hair before I sat down to read this - trying to grow it out and am just at that point of being able to wear it back (if I manage it with lots of pins and clips and bands).

Suki, this style is stunning on you! I also like the updo you did for yourself, too. I am also growing my hair back out, because I can't stand to go to the stylist. You made me smile when you said you like to just get up and run a comb through your hair...oh, that is me to a T. I even wash it and go to bed with it wet!

I never like the way my hair gets coifed when someone cuts it. I usually come home and wet it and do it over :)

I have always have had either really long hair (past my "tush") or anywhere shoulder length and beyond.... a week before "YART", I chopped off 5 inches.....just wanted to see how it looked and felt to have shorter hair...
I love your new style....and...you can still wear berets!

Oh ho! This rings a bell. Haven't had my hair cut in ten years; I swore I never would again after it nearly all fell out due to a viral infection in 2000. But I've been thinking lately that I should brave the scissors; though I will still keep my hair long so as to tie it in a pigtail - can't stand hair flapping around my face when I work in half a gale in the garden. (The long hair comes in handy when I want to plait it and pretend I m still the wild child of my former years.) Sending you my love, and hope you are well, Suki. I really like the new cut! It does really show off how beautiful your hair is. I also am someone who refuses to fuss with my hair. I tousle it with my fingers and go.
