generosity

This morning on my walk I passed by a bin of peaches with a sign saying "Free, take some." I know these neighbors are not wealthy, and they have but a small garden with a few fruit trees. Yet they are kind enough to share with others. There was also a bin of squash, abundant at this time of year for sure.

It warmed my heart to see this. Being generous myself or receiving another's generosity: both make me feel good and right with the world. To give is to receive and to receive is to give.

How lovely. As in hb's comment above, I see the kindness spreading out even further in your relating of this gentle act of generosity.

How kind of them. I would rather give away then waste such good food. We share our abundance when we get to much of our veggies we grow. What you give comes back ten fold you know.

Generous giving...wouldn't take much to make an incredible dessert and with a few more ingredients you have main course and dessert! It's amazing what one can do hunting in the cupboard or fridge.

How nice, and they look delicious. Each summer my neighbor plants a small vegetable garden in his yard and then sends his kids all around the cul de sac giving away the produce. Some people are so kind.

Perhaps you might think to leave a little piece of artwork in return? A collaged notecard or art card.

Beautiful and so life affirming. My kids had a third grade teacher who kept a big sign at the front of the classroom above the chalkboard that said "invest in kindness".

How wonderful. Someone at work brought tomatoes to share from her garden. I took one.
