Two nights ago we had a late afternoon downpour. When the sun returned, the meadows became encased in mist. Mystical and mysterious. Thank you to everyone who emailed me regarding my last post. I am slowly regaining strength and determination to manifest my dream. I tentatively plan a mid-September trip to the Cape to try anew.
Last night my son came to dinner so I made this blueberry and peach cobbler from a recipe in The Greens Cook Book by Deborah Madison. Both the blueberries and peaches are locally grown. Yes, peaches do grow up here in the cold north. Nearby is Alyson's Orchard where many acres of fruits and berries grow. click here for link. You can pick your own or find them at local vegetable stands.

That cobbler looks scrumptious!
You probably know that I'm a strong believer in trusting fate, and am confident that if one of the houses you already saw on the Cape was meant to be your next home it would have fallen in to place.
Just remember to trust your instincts!
I can relate to your post below. To me you have it made, money to buy a house, the choice to live anywhere(almost), but I know things are always different than they seem. I am trying to decide what to do too, only I have no money to work with, so it is a bit harder. I think all we can do is trust that everything is perfect just as it is and that the answers will come when we need them :-). That cobbler looks very yummy...
Hugs.
I am not a believer in fate. I believe you need to get out there and take care of things.. they dont fall in your lap. I am so glad you are picking yourself up and trying again. What's that saying.. God helps those that help themselves and If at first you dont succeed, etc.....That's what is going to get you where you want to go. Bravo Suki. I just don't think you liked any of those houses or you would have picked one.
ps.. that cobbler DID look yummy. :)
Peach and blueberry cobbler...summer delights. I can still remember my grandmother's cobbler!
Oh this looks nummy. Good luck in finding the right home in September.
Good for you!
Yeah go out there in September!
In the meanwhile try to relax and enjoy life so you get your energy level ok again!
this cobbler seems yummy to me!
Hugs!

I had to go read your post from below and am so happy you are working your way through things.
Great looking cobbler Suki!
I think you need a hug so am sending one.
HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL! This, I know from experience. Don't give up and don't lose faith. It will happen when you're ready.
In the meantime, this is a delicious looking cobbler. May I come to dinner?
Life is a combination of fate and action. There is a lot of decision making required when choosing a house and of course this can be overwhelming.
Taking a break is probably a good thing. Who knows what will have popped up in the Cape market by Sept.
Hugs from me too Suki. It will all be alright, so stay positive.
xx
thanks M. Heart. I do forget to trust sometimes.
Annie, thanks. Yes, I am blessed with options that were not open to me before. I am so happy too to have lcothes, a roof over my head, and food as delicious as peaches and blueberries!
Cris, I do think life is a meld of trust that all things will work out, and also doing the actions that will take one toward the place one wants to go.
Blue Sky, this one made enough for my son to take home and for me to take some to my brother, who declined the dinner invitation.
Lynn, thank. the cobbler was delicious only next time I think I'd put less sugar in it.
Marianne, thanks for your email and the good luck wishes.
Teri, thanks for that hug. I did need that.!
katie Jane, yes, I guess one thing that's good to learn is to pick oneself up and start all over again. I used to lvoe that song. "He's got high hopes..."
Patti, I agree with you and wrote that in reply to someone before I read your comment! A combination of fate and action. that's the key.
yup suki i think that none of them actually 'talked' to you, when one does, you will grab it...and it's all in the timing.anyway, sometimes we have to just stay where we are until such time as we are good and ready to pick up and move and that's that.
I think it's called "depression" - lot's of losses for you this past year and lo and behold - you are not superwoman. So you have taken time to collapse.
Now that you understand what is going on - get you ass in gear and get out there girl!
I agree Mim. I do think I have been depressed.
Oh yum! My heart goes out to you Suki but I feel that this journey you are on, miserable at times, will eventually lead you to the home you are meant to have. When you arrive, I think you will have learned and gained something within yourself as well. Good to hear you are getting right back into it. I pray for your journey.
there are more coaches. Not every one is a fit, so another may be a much better match for you. You seem to know you are "stuck" and want some help....one foot in front of the other. xxoo
Soft mist and a luscious "peach" sun, beautifully captured in your photo.
*Hugs*
artist unplugged, i know this is about more than a house per se, and is tapping some inner blockage that needs to open.
Leslie, For many many years I was in therapy with various therapist and also in group therapy which I found excellent. I know coaches arent therapists and I thought this particular stuck place might be better addressed by a coach than a therapist. I personally know about 4 other coaches and one came forth volunteering her expertise. I am pondering.
thanks Chewy.
i had to come over and tell you S, i have opened my etsy shop...eeeeek.
Oh, yum! Suki, I'm so glad to hear of your renewed determination and I very much agree with m.heart. Something better is on its way.
Beautiful misty photo, and that cobbler is making my mouth water!
Beautiful photographs Suki - you must live in a wonderful setting.
And the cobbler - oh the cobbler - one of my favorites - peach AND blueberry, no less. Yum. Now top that warm, just out of the oven with some French Vanilla Ice Cream and it doesn't get any better than that!
OMG, that cobbler looks heavenly. I believe I can smell it from here in the Southwest, even though it was baked (and no doubt disappeared) several days ago.
There will be other houses. Don't get hung up on "the one that got away." I would think the market would be slower in the winter and that a great buy might be had.
