Bones

Journal page. Charcoal-hard and soft, conte crayon. Purposely smudged.

At the moment, I just don't have any words to say. So, just posting this page. Maybe it says something!

The picture says more than a thousand words. Many thanks, it's lovely. I love charcoal, although go bananas when my children mess around with it at home.

Greetings from London.

Suki, this I feel speaks volumes! You have so much on your mind right now, so I can clearly understand the words are not making themselves known right now. The thoughts are deeper inside than words might be able to express.

I wish for you all the things you need to process all which has happened in your life recently and all which will be happening in the next few months.

Peace and Love, My Dear Friend!

the drawing is speaking volumes

Drawing is sometimes all that is needed: to look and see; to record and create visually. Lovely, and thankyou for sharing this moment.

Beautiful drawing...no need for explanations or interpretations..it just is.It's easy to forget we don't know or ever will know everything.

I see a man's face in one of the "bones" on the left side. This feels heavy to me. Perhaps you feel heavy.
Or possibly I am projecting.

Hugs...from Lynn

I wish for you a day of peace and tranquility. When storms have arisen in my life a gentle soak in a lavender-scented tub, a soothing cd, and time just to float always smooth over the wave-tossed feeling. Have a wonderful day . . . and stretch it into the weekend . . . and beyond.

"I take peace" ~~ Fra Giovanni

I agree that this speaks volumes.
Our subconscience pulls lots of stuff out from the depths. I'm sure this powerful sketch is part of whatever you're processing right now.
I love it.

The picture does the talking, guess there is only so much to say sometimes. I like the smudging. Blessings to you.

When you look back on this piece it will tell you what was on your mind at the time. It is certainly an interesting piece of art.

I too see a face in one of the small rocks andwhat looks like could be a horses head. Could be a horse and rider wanting to ride away from all the pain of your losses & the bones represent death. My take on this drawing. :)
Hang in there, Spring is just around the corner, and some beauty and light will shine again for you.

I agree with artist unplugged.
"Sometimes there is only so much to say."
I do enjoy the images in this work,,,,love the 3-d look to the globe in the far right bottom.
Full circle?,,,,complete? Infinite symbology possible. Or not. Whatever it is saying for you is the important part, even if it says nothing at all. You are DOING,,,and I'm glad.

Hello A cuban in london. Thanks for stopping by. I love charcoal too messy though it is. Thanks for you comments.

Annie, Thanks for the hugs. Actually I dont much like this drawing however it does seem intense.

Kim,you are so right. My thoughts are deeper inside than words can express. So well said. Thank you.

Thanks Mim.

Wild Somerset Child, thank you. I agree that drawing and the visual says it all sometimes without any words needed. And so much more quickly than words too.

BSD, "we dont know nor ever will know everything." For sure. It seems every day of my life reminds me of this which I keep forgetting.

Lynn, Yes, there is a sort of bone face on the left. Maybe the charcoal makes it feel heavy. I am feeling sad, but not really grim.

Debbie, I love that quote. Beautiful. "I take peace." It is a choice too. And thank you for your gentle suggestions of things I might do to sooth myself.

Lolo, I agree. This is something i am processing though who knows what it really means. But i was struck by Dianne's interview (see Kim's blog) in which she speaks of drawing/painting emotions. I think this drawing is doing that for me.

Artist unplugged, thanks for the blessings. The smudging is fun. I saw an artist on the Art City video doing it so I had to try it.

TeriC, yes, good to have this visual record to look back at someday. Thanks.

Soulbrush, thanks for listening.

Lisa, thank you for your kind wishes.

Cris thanks for the reminder of spring and your interpretation of the picture. I love to hear what people see and think. There is def. a face there.

Babs, this is not a typical drawing for me. I did feel good to be "doing' as you say. So much inside and I dont want to get clogged.

Mary thanks so much.

What a complicated and intense image! Suki, you are so expressive!

Jude said...

Yes, you are very expressive, that's why this piece speaks volumes to people who know you. Keep speaking............

sukipoet said...

Thanks cynthia. I suppose being expressive keeps me sane.

Thanks Jude. I hope to be able to do so.
