After their naps, E and E decided they'd like to skip lunch and go souvenir shopping before the storm hit. So we hopped in the car and went to two local arts and crafts stores. There they bought gifts for Mike, their master back in Devon. Several handcrafted mugs embossed with maple leaves, a long hand- knit alpaca scarf for Carole, Mike's wife. A painting of a New England village in the, appropriately, snow. And two new hand woven purses one for Erm and one for Esma.
We then came home, ate lunch and talk, talk, talked. By the time we walked out to get the mail, well see the photo above that my brother took of Ermintrude, Esmeralda and I.
Things cleared up a bit on Saturday and we were able to go outside and make a snowsheep. Someone, I won't say who, began to throw snowballs. Soon, we were all throwing snowballs and we ended up wet and snowy and laughing. These girls are a hoot. Or a baa hoot. The girls will be with me again tonight, and then on Sunday morning will head on down to Mim's while we have a break in the snow storms.

Looks like you all are having the time of your lives. Look at all that snow. Great photos your Brother took. How fun to go out and build a snow sheep and throw snowballs. Our snow's melted away already.
Glad they are remembering to take some gifts home too. I hope the storm doesnt get to bad before they head to Mim's on Sunday. Enjoy the rest of their visit.
Erm, Esma and Suki:) You are a hoot:):)thanks for these lovely snapshots of their visit in your snowy country, I love love love the sheepsnowman, euh...the snowsheep:) Andrea
Suki, it looks like you have been a wonderful hostess to Erm and Esma. Hope you didn't encourage them to spend too much money on those gifts! I would love to play in the snow with them!!!!!
How much fun you are all having! Didn't this visit happen at the exact right time?! XOXO
I am smiling so wide looking at the photo shoot of E & E in your wonderful home. What a hostess you are...And what fun you all had together. It couldn't have come at a better time I think...got you out a bit and lifted your spirits.
I bet you are tired once they leave...but you will miss them, I know, I do! ;-)
Cris, yes. I havent had a snowball fight in years. I have a confession though. The snow isnt really that deep. We were crouching behind a mound of snow there. :)
Andrea, we are having a great time here in the cold and snow. E and E confessed that they had never made a snowsheep before, but they thought he/she was pretty cute and wanted to pack it up to take to Mim's.
Dianne, they gals were moderate in their spending. and just think, they were helping out local craftsperson. That's what I call approved spending.
Annie, I think the visit did happen at the right time. The girls have cheered me up so much and I think they've had fun too.
Lynn you are so funny. Yes, my spirits are lifted for sure. These two are characters. I did get in some beer for them and they guzzled a good bit at dinner last night. I'd love to go pub hopping with them in England sometime.
It is good to see you laughing and talking and loving life!
And now we all are.
Dearest Suki,
Nothing like friends to lift our hearts and tickle our ribs. Sounds like you are having a grand time with all the weather and such. Enjoy yourself and store up those precious memories to ponder later. I love a snowball fight -- good clean fun. : D
Merry Christmas, Sweet One. I must reserve the thumb (alas, no fresh bread for Christmas dinner -- hello biscuits), so I shall sign off with wishes for a joyous holyday for you.
Much Love,
Debbie
Bring them down anytime Suki - they can help us plow the driveway!!!!
Such fun!! Can you just imagine a return trip in the Spring? Enjoy!
Mary Ann
All this fun AND you're going to Mims??? I want to tag along!
Teri, yes, it is good to laugh and run around in the snow and giggle and so on. It has been great and heartwarming to have E and E here.
Debbie, may you have a joyous holiday also and hope that hand heels quickly for you. Joyful song, Suki
Mim, okay they shall arrive this afternoon. I am staying back here at home but Blaize (my altar ego) will drive them down. She is intrepid and brave.
Blue Sky, they would be surprised to see how different the landscape is in the spring!
Laurel, well I am staying behind. Dont like to drive in the snow. But Blaize (you missed all the Blaize postings of earlier times) is going to take them to MIm's.
So much fun! I need some sheep at my place!
Suki, this is so cute. I'm so glad you are all having such a great time. I hope you don't have TOO much snow. I heard it was pretty bad up there. We don't have any yet, (knock on wood), but I'm sure it won't be too far away.
sounds like you have having one snow-filled, love-full, fantabulous time!
:)
these posts about the e and e ar hysterical, i am only able to get on line occassionally here. your gifts and postcards are all fabulous and i think it is a great idea to keep them till next year and see them all again. suki, i was meant to come here as there are a lot of problems in this home and i have spent 2 weeks counselling them each individually, they are so needy. so i do feel more and more that your mom's red heart sent me here. bless her and bless you. hugs. back on tuesday.
Patti, they are so cute and fun, it is true.
Katie Jane, the snow accumulation wasnt too bad on Friday night, but right now, Sunday morning, it is snowing again and rather hard so I fear a lot will pile up. Luckily a man down the road plows as the driveway is quite long.
KJ it is nice to have a fun time in the midst of sadness. They have gone now though and it is sooooo quiet!
Soulbrush, so good to hear from you and how wonderful that you are able to give so much to your family when they are in need. I am so touched that you connect your going with Mom's red heart which I too now wear almost daily. Have a wonderful trip home. Can't wait to see all your photos and hear your stories.
Suki, you are an amazing storyteller. I love all the things you have done with E&E! They are a lot of fun.
Oh My...you have lots of white fluffy at your house!
Thanks Suki
