For two weeks the predominant weather pattern has been cold, rain, damp, cold, rain, damp. Yesterday, it finally did me in. I was listless. Fatigued. I did not practice my yoga. I did not take a walk. My cat was throwing up. My hair was sticking up all over the place. I lay around reading a book. Then watched "Love in the Time of Cholera." Very much enjoyed that movie. More rain predicted for the next few days too.
My plan is to attend a rock swap on Saturday, so hope the rain holds off.

Wow, Suki! I am so sorry you have been dealing with this. I know a lot of people struggle with lots of cloudy, rainy times. Do you have a full-spectrum light? I know that helps a lot of people and they are easier to find now.
I can't say we have had the same weather...storms from time to time, but not that steady rain...but it is HOT...now I don't deal with that all so well...it makes me mean!
But you know, maybe the rain has come so you will slow down...allow your hair to stick up all over the place and read that book. I am sorry about your kitty, though...poor, dear kitty! I do hope s/he is okay.
You hang in there and enjoy your rock swap...is it literal? Swapping rocks with other people? I hope the rain holds off for that too. Maybe you should find yourself some of those really cool, colorful, funky wellies to wear...that might cheer you up! :)

Looks like you have very much the same weather as we have. I had my last day at work today before the vacation and would love some warmer weather!

KIm, thanks for your empathy. Right now I don't have a full-spectrum light but do hope to get one. I know its silly to complain about the weather. Nothing to be done. I agree, I think I needed to slow down and I have been quite slow today and yesterday. Funny thing, with all the rain, the grass still seems to crunch under my shoe in places.
Kitty has been eating something outside she shouldnt.
The Rock swap is a kind of fair with booths from which people sell rock related things from raw stones to jewelry. Plus there is food for sale. But you have to pay for everything rather than swapping. Although maybe the vendors swap with each other.

Thanks chewy. There is not much but a sledge hammer that will damage the rocks. But you know there is some kind of Zen saying about slowness and water dripping on a rock which does eventually wear away under the water. I can't remember the exact story. Kitty is a bit better. This is the second time in several weeks she has eaten something disturbing to her system.
Honor the rock swap is sort of like a craft fair but people are selling rocks. From rough rocks mined locally, up to fancy semi-precious stones made into jewelry. Purty eccentric folks.
That's cute Kim. Maybe it is ice crunching. Heh heh. Ok, I'll try that blowing in the wind idea. It might help. If not, human being, there are always rain dances.

Hey come here to Oregon. We have 90 something today thru the weekend. and I am not complaining as we have been having thick marine layer drizzly cold days that depress one. Altho My hubby doesnt like extreme heat. We can be outside and the sun feels good for a change. I can feel your listlessness. we have gone thru that for awhile and had rain for longer then we usually have. But then CA is on fire and we aren't so I guess I shouldn't complain about the rain we had.
PS...Never have seen that movie. Is is a sad movie? I stir clear of them in winter. lol
Hope you get to feeling better soon. We went to an art festival today and I talked to the head of the local Art league. I showed her a couple photos of my work and she grabbed paper and pen and had me give her my address and phone number and email address and said I need to join this group of Artists in the league. I'm thinking about it. It got my Artistic juices going. :)
Love your rain-on-the-ground photos, Suki. We need rain right now, but too much of anything can get to a person, especially gray days. "Love in the Time of Cholera" is such a beautiful book and we have the film on the netflix queue.

Cris, I guess it is foolish to long for weather that isnt coming. As i write it is pouring again with thunder. Cris, that's fabulous about the Arts League woman. You could always try it and if it doesnt work out, untry it. At any rate it presents you with an option to meet more artists and like minded folks.
The movie is melancholic and somewhat sad re: unrequited love. But the end is very beautiful and life affirming and I really liked the whole thing except I thought the actors, who had to age quite a bit, looked fake as older persons. At least the woman did.
Hello San and thanks. Yes, I guess Santa Fe is a dry area much of the time and if I could I'd send you some of the rain pouring down right now as I type. I think you will like the movie. I esp love the main male character actor ( I can never remember characters names.)And such a wonderful, enspiriting ending.
