Felted Brooch

I bought this beautiful felted brooch from Sara at her Etsy shop. It arrived yesterday. Isn't it amazing? She pinned it to these book pages which are machine sewed around the edges. The face is hand painted and embroidered.
She included a felted bookmark too as an extra gift. From looking at her blog I now want to try felting. I can just feel the wool in my hands. You can felt with your hands and also with tools but my hands ache to do it. My friend A. who used to weave has a lot of carded wool so maybe I can get some from him and try.
Here is a little gift tag she included, a photo reproduction of one of her artworks. Thank you Sara. I know I will wear the pin a lot. I love pins. And am always looking for a bookmark.

I love pins and brooches, too. I had a felted one, but I accidentally left it on my sweater when I washed it and the pin came unglued. Well, I USUALLY take really good care of my things.

How Fun is all this. I think Lynn got some sort of felting tool on her trip to visit in-laws recently.
Food to try new things and nice to have inspiration coming from others isn't it?

Thanks for the warning Kikipotamus. I'll try to remember to remove my pin. Right now I'm wearing it on something wool so I am not likely to throw it in the washer.

Cris, your slurp of the tongue is rather funny. Yep. Thanks

hb when I can I like to buy things from people I "know."Rather than anonymous people. Even when shopping for things in actual shops I tend to shop in small local places where the owner is your neighbor rather than large, often cheaper places, such as Walmart where who knows who the owner is. Not my neighbor at any rate although h it is true my neighbors might be working there.

Suki, I share your philosophy in shopping... I really do and really believe in it...
I used the word 'worthy' with the meaning of 'deserving respect and appreciation because it is of some valuable nature'
I didn't mean just being expensive.
Sorry if this ambiguity is caused by my lame competence of English.
Love.
