reliquary An Altered Latin dictionary

A reliquary is a container for sacred objects or a place where sacred objects are kept. This altered book was originally a Latin dictionary. Approx 3 x 4 3/4 it fits nicely into the hand.

OK I am now seeing what they are. I saw some by Judy Wise on her blog. take a look at them. I was wondering what they were about. I seem to be asking lots of questions but having never done these types of things I am interesting in the process and why fors I guess. I am learning. ;)

Hi all and thanks. Hi emmy thanks for dropping by my blog.

Cris, I have taken a gander at Judy Wise's site. She does a lot of interesting things, some sort of similar to myself.

Mary--not sure if you mean this reliquary which is finished and gone or the new altered book I'm working on which is about 5" by 5" or the new robe which is about 3'by 4'. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Suki, I love this book, the colours and the way you put the pages together, the way you gave it a new sense, with things glued and added. It makes it a double-sense-thing:) How interesting!

These books are lovely and made me want to pick them up and feel the textures. It's true they have an old story and a new one.

Suki this book is so cool. I love so many things about it. Just home from my collage class, this is such fun to find, so many pieces, objects, fabrics. Do love the big gold bow...giving me more ideas for my Ella quilt too. Wow...The box beloving to your friend is so special and the niche for it too. Love it all. The freedom of the coloring and painting...all wonderful.

Greetings S,
Now I know it is you. Here is the tribute to Sarah written for her memorial service:

Goodbye, Dear Friend………………………

Sarah, although I shed many tears,
I do not feel sad but celebrate
Because I know your Golden Smile
Lights up the Heavens………………………

And you’ve found that Bliss
For which you searched so long.
So, I say, “Goodbye, Dear Friend,”
Until we meet again…………………………
