I havent been doing any craft/art work for awhile if feels like. I have been moving some things into my new studio in the house, but will keep my old studio for painting and wax work, at least until it turns cold out there. This little canvas I found at a yard sale. I am gessoing over the sentiment so I can use the canvas for a collage. The surface is coated with something slick, but the gesso is sticking so far.
When the gesso is dry, I will glue one of these small collages onto the canvas and then wax over it. The collages were made to Zerox in multiple copies and make cards out of. I sold alot of those cards, however I'm not going to make them anymore so wanted to use the collages in some way. They are about 3x4.
This is one of my favorites. The photocopy was made from a photo of my great-grandmother Susan who quilted unto death even though she was blind at the end. I have used this image of her in a number of paintings and pastel drawings. I have about 15 more of the small collages awaiting canvases.
Meanwhile I painted over part of this acrylic painting I don't care for with iron oxide. The peekaboo into the landscape is kinda cool but it will be covered over.
The wonderful iron oxide paint recommended by Kim.
Next I will affix this canvas collage and then wax over the whole thing.
