Christmas Spirit

I went to a little church Christmas bazaar and my lagging Christmas spirit got a boost. It was so humble really. They had two Christmas rooms, one with nothing much and the second with a small selection of fun things.

This ball I unpacked from my box of Christmas items. Mom made it years ago. December 4th was the 2nd anniversary of her death. I love you Mom.

This felt bag I got for 50 cents at the church fair.

These little fellows are made and sold by the Waldorf School folks and I have purchased several through the years.

Someone sent me this door knob Santa as a gift. Love the buttons for whiskers.

I bought four of these cotton towels with different embelleshments at the Christmas fair. Four for $2.

I'm first! Up early to prepare for a L-O-N-G day at out final 2010 Opera.....(plus the after-hour Vodka Party)!

I love Christmas Cactus....one day I need to buy one! They are so festive!

You found many wonderful treasures at the bazaar...I love the towels - can't believe the price! All that handwork - gorgeous! Your Mom's ornament is beautiful... two years since her death.... I know you miss her....but I also know she is proud of you for moving ahead with this new life of yours....

The little "Santa" with the fluffer-beard is adorable.

And....I love the quote by Sitting Bull's great grandson....even paraphrased, it is poignant and true.

Sending you a big Christmasy hug!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

Suki...yep, I am trying to get into the spirit too. I went out to Wegman's (a nice gourmet grocery store) and all their Christmas decorations were on sale and I got this great solar powered string of lights to put on the wreath I got to hang around the neck of my big concrete cat in my front yard. Then I went to Tuesday Morning and got some 'tole painted' stars and a Santa. So the front yard is set.

Then I spent the better part of a day up in my attic, sorting through the many boxes of Xmas ornaments I have, As you say...lots of memories there. But I am sorting through them and am going to donate any I can part with for a fund raising auction that cat bloggers are doing for one of my cats who was so ill in June.

Like Robin, I love the little Waldorf Santa...his beard looks like clouds!

I haven't been to a christmas bazzar as yet this year. They always put me in the mood. Your finds are great especially the towels.

What wonderful church bazaar finds, and oh my, the ornament your mom made is so special. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. This time of year must be extra hard for you.

It's nice to see hints of Christmas spirit in your home.♥

Oh, by the way I realized why the monkey on the header bothered me! I thought his little fingers were a sinister mouth. How goofy!! When I finally stared at it to see wht he scared me it became very clear. (I should have had my glasses on!!)
He's adorable ;)
