"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."
Emily Dickinson

On Friday after a grocery trip I drove down the road the herb woman with the rabbit hat lives on. As I passed an adorable little yellow house a woman outside waved to me. She was short and grey-haired. I turned around and stopped at her house. I hopped out of the car saying the herb woman's name.

Turned out she was not the same woman, but we ended up having a long and interesting talk. She took me around in back of her house where there was a beautiful small lake and an area where her dozen or so chickens clucked and scratched. That's where I picked up the feather. So, I met a new person. Hurrah.

In the evening I went to a poetry reading at a local bookstore. There, I recognized a woman who had been at the Tuesday night herb talk. After the reading we chatted for awhile and she asked me if I'd like to come to her house for a cup of tea with herself and her partner. Don't you think it was kinda Pippi of me to go?

I followed her car in the dark, just a short distance. Her partner had also been at the herb talk. We had our tea sitting by a woodstove fire and found many things in common. Herbs, felting, reading and writing poems, antiques. Plus they were both born in Connecticut as was I. I left after an hour. These are the FIRST local people who have actually invited me into their home. Whew. That was a lot of newness for introvert me, but great fun.

Meanwhile, I called the Doctor's office and the nurse read the biopsy report to me. It's all in a computer now which makes it easy to access. The bottom line is there was no tissue overgrowth or tumour material discerned which means no cancer she said. I still have to hear what the doctor says though. And still have to ponder what the symptom means as I had the symptom again on Friday.

I still have a couple more tests to go through next week. But I feel lightened. One reason I am running around doing Pippi things is I want to send the message to my body that I do want to be healed.

Today I am staying home and puttering with some older artworks. Cheers, Suki

Yea for pippiSuki!!! Maybe this scare is just what you needed to kick you into gear. So happy for you about the results so far. May the rest be good too. I know that relief.. even tho I had to have surgery, at least it was curable & I knew it was going into surgery.

It is wonderful to hear you received good news aboout the biopsy.... the doctors will surely find a way to end those other symptoms...

And....I am so proud that you have already met and befriended more people! And have been invited to someone's home! You are reclaiming your "old" self....that woman who is brave and fearless and strong! What a gift you are giving to yourself!!!!

Oh - I love the picture of the delicate, floaty feather! And - the "Hope" poem is one of my all-time favourites!

How did you like "The Mission"? I have never seen it and have wondered about it....

Love, from your Netflix-friend,

Great news Suki!
I think that when we're given a challenge we're also given ways to get through it - in this case you are finally meeting people in your area who you share common interests with, amazing! I can't help but wonder if their manifestation has something to do with your recent decision to take some of your beautiful things out of boxes.

I love your attitude and your message to your body that you want to heal and be healthy and happy!
Fingers crossed on all the rest of the medical stuff. I do believe it's something annoying yet treatable. I think it's great that you have a wonderful naturopath. I myself like having both eastern and western medical minds/skills on my side.

I like what M. Heart had to say! I believe these new colorful people started showing up as soon as you unpacked some precious keepsakes and surrounded yourself with color again. You're channeling your inner-extrovert!

This is wonderful, Suiki! I am so glad you are getting out and meeting people. Friendship is so healing and we all need to know that we are not alone out here. I hope you will continue to nurture these newfound friendships.
I'm also very happy with your health news. I hope the visit with the doctor goes as well.
