I entered a giveaway on Lisa's Mud Hound Studio blog and won this beautiful book which was awaiting me on my return from vacation.
I've never won a blog giveaway before (I dont think) so this was exciting. The book is beautiful, written by Sibella Court about creating beautiful interiors with magical things. The paper is thick and sturdy. The photos and arrangements exquisite and inspiring. It is the perfect escape read for me right now when I am having a hard time concentrating.Somewhere in the book she likens a home to a museum. This reminds me of 217 County Road, where I did turn my home into a museum. Not on purpose, but it ended up that way. Old hats tacked to the ceiling, old purses hanging from the walls, a shelf of small purses and hat pins and compacts, old books and dolls. Goodness.

congrats Suki! I went through a stage once where all I read was large glossy picture books on interior design (from the library). It's soothing to just look at the pictures without the pressure of words sometimes.

Sometimes just looking at pictures is enough. No thought required,,relaxing,,just being.
Winning that give-away at this particularly difficult time is a sign that the Universe is sending you a manifestation of comfort and love, I'd say. And maybe some ideas for that new house that will one day also manifest for you.
