These pages came out rather dark. I used Prussian blue in place of Indigo which is the color for this chakra. Owl is the animal for this chakra. Ajna is the Sanskrit name meaning perception. The chakra represents intuition and imagination. Clear sight and insight. Quartz and lapis lauli are the stones for this chakra.
The metal is silver. Element is light. Power is imagintion and resolution of duality.
The lotus is a two petaled lotus. I only have one more chakra to depict. And then the back and front covers of the book to paint. These pages don't seem pretty to me, but they are what happened. Aummmmmmm.

I love these Suki, this one in particular!
Suki, I find this Chakra painting particuarly beautiful....and not too dark in colour... I love your drawings and how you have layered upon layer ...adding more "vision" and "perception".
Before you began this series of Chakra drawings, I knew practically nothing about them....but I have found by reading your descriptions, intently studying your paintings and just thinking as I was looking - I have learned a lot.
This series of yours is fascinating...and I will be sorry to see you complete it. It has given me a lot of pleasure.
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
A journey you are taking us along on...thank you. I start my relaxation therapy with my therapist next week, she says people so often live in a 'fight or flight' state of stress, she is sure this will help me...now if I could just find a local kirtan...
Suki, I think this one is my favorite. I LOVE the colors and I don't think they are too dark at all. Of course this is also my favorite chakra, since I live so much in my head and because spirit is all to me. Love you dear Suki.

I love your Chakra drawings and have followed along...I will be sorry when you've finished. Since I work with Chakras when I practice Reiki on a client, much of what you've written is very much required knowledge for me, and I love the reminders I get here.
I love the dark colours, indigo being one of my favourites, but the Prussian blue works really well.
Thank you for all your hard work...this series is so very special to me.
Suki, I truly love this project you have taken on. I also don't find this particularly dark and am really pulled to this chakra. It will be a wonderful guide book and a work of beauty all in one.
It will be interesting to see what your brush does with the cover!
Have a Beautiful Sunday!
The colors jump off the page for ME!
I am glad to see you dipping brushes in paint and paint on paper!
I so like these pages...speaks clearly of the Chakra and yet stays in the realm of art making...love the brush work. This is going to be a beautiful book.
This is a beautiful way to study Chakras.
well Suki if you know anything about me you know that I'm all over these blue pages!!
I think your depictions are right on. I love how you're interpreting these in a journal.
Light and blessings...
Lolo♥
Art doesn't have to be pretty to be beautiful. Right?
These colors and your markings are beautiful. So there!
:-)
well....
i enjoy anything you paint any time, and you are a fine teacher, but really, today i am just stopping by to say i love you too.
be prepared for giant smiles in the side yard of # 9...
These are all very exotic and this one, maybe because of the blue, reminds me of 'Arabian Nights'...not dark and forboding but shimmery and mysterious.
i really like the colours, they are soulful and deep. they talk to me definitely.
"The resolution of duality"...thanks for mentioning that. Definitely something I need to work on. I must get out my lapis pendant and wear it often! The blue you chose is bluetiful!
