Whence the sun?

A couple of 4 by 4 collages I made a few weeks ago. Just to keep my hands busy. My paints are packed and I havent gone through the ART boxes to try to find them yet, so can only glue papers.

The summer weather has flown. It is cold and rainy here with many thunderstorms. The sun is hidden but still there somewhere.

I thank all of you who so enthusiastically commented on my poem. I have written poetry since I was able to print. Intermittently, but I have a folder full somewhere. The poems of recent years seem to be lost. I write them, put them into the computer and then they just disappear. Oh well.

These collages are terrific Suki. I love all the textures. I know what you mean about the computer eating things. The computer is a wonderful tool but it can also be destructive. I much rather have poems in a book of some sort that I can page through. It just feels better.

Your collages are gorgeous! You really packed a lot of colors and textures into such a small space. Isn't it wonderful to see what beauty you can create with a minimum of materials? These are real gems!

I just love your use of colors and textures. You have such a natural feel for things.

Suki, do you have anyone to go places with locally, like the farmer's market or the music by the river?

I'm hoping you do.

It's been very chilly and gloomy here too. What's up with that in June? I may have to wear winter clothes for tomorrow's cookout at my niece's!

I began the book last night. I'm loving it already! Thanks again ♥

I think you are getting our rain and crummy weather because we are FINALLY getting nice dry warm weather for awhile. Lovely collages. You need a printer. when you type out a poem you can print it out and put it in a folder. You should lose them. They are priceless.

Suki, these collages are so thoughtful and full of beauty.
I wish I could create like this...

You CANNOT lose your poetry.... why don't you start a real folder and write longhand - poetry is such an inspiring and almost lost art.... and you are really good...
the one you wrote this week is still resonating with me.

Sorry for the cold, grey weather -I fear Chris is right - you "Easterners" are finally getting "our" weather. We are due for a few days of much needed sun and warmth.

Sending you love - and an e-mail soon!

Cris, I actually do have a printer. I think my problem is having no stable place to live. Before, when I lived in one house for 20 years, I saved stuff and had file cabinets full of my writing. Since I have been transient for the last 6 years, I have been unable to keep anything where I know where it is. This may change when I finally get settled and can use folders and file cabinets again.

Seems like life.............

Your collages are beautiful as ever!
I can't really judge the poem since english poetry is very difficult for me, but I am sure it is as beautiful as all you do . It comes from a beautiful heart ♥

have a nice weekend!

Beautiful collages, Suki! Maybe you could put all of your writings into a book made for collecting...like a recipe book or slip your handwritten stuff into a photo album...add some art and voila! No more lost poetry!!! It would be so fun to look at all the time too!

Suki, these are great fun and lots of emotion showing through in them. There is something rather therapeutic in gluing things in place. I think it is all that glue reminds us of when we were little and always wanting to stick things on other things - I drove my mother mad with it all!

I have always loved your words, so it warms my heart to know you keep writing. I bet you will find a lot of those poems when you get unpacked one day.
