Artists Win This House
Two artists from the Sanford Maine area, who met and fell in love and now want to travel, are giving away one of their homes in an artist lottery. You have to be an artist of some sort to win: composer, writer, visual artist etc. You pay $50 to enter and must write a brief essay up to 500 words about how the world would be a better place if you won the house. The essay can be a poem, song, and so forth.
The contest/lottery continues until June or until they have received 4000 entries. See rules and get the link to the application form on their blog here.
See the house photos here. I learned about this lottery from my friend SM. Thanks, SM. OK everyone, get out your pens and creativity and win a house!!!!!

This is a brilliant idea, brilliant! Who wouldn't pay $50 to win a house? And they get $200,000 to travel with and get it off their hands.
Wow Suki! I hope you win!
I do think I'll give it a go myself too. I've never owned my own home and it's always been a dream of mine.
The essay is a tough one...it has me thinking hard.

Looks like a sweet place. I've heard of other houses being "sold" this way and it's clever.
