The bell is for Barry. At 2pm on Feb 18th he rang a bell as he left the Chemo treatment center at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. The bell is rung when you finish your chemo treatments. I read about the bell on Willow and Leslie's blogs. I had not know about Barry before today.
I read the post at about 1:45 pm. Barry invited all of us in blogland who had bells to chime them at 2pm so the sound would go all the way to Japan. Well, by the time I brought the bell inside from out in the workshop shed, it was TWO! I rang. This bell has been in the family for years and once was affixed to a wall outside.
This candle is for Renee who has stage four breast cancer and is now in hospital in Canada. A vigil for Renee and for all who suffer from cancer.

If hearts love could ease the pain, our friends would be resting now and healing...we can hope for that.
Oh what a sweet post for Renee!
I hop all these bundled possitive thoughts will reach her and will make her feel better!
Suki, you are a dear person indeed! Your bell ringing and candle burning brings back memories of rituals I have done for suffering friends. It never matters where you are in the world these events touch those you care about and those who suffer everywhere in a profound way.
I wish the very best for your friends and send them great hope and less suffering. Your act of bell ringing and candle lighting is a reminder to never give up hope...as difficult as that may be sometimes.
Peace!
Damn cancer.
Not much else to say about it. the candle for Renee is lovely...and she sure needs it.
Susan,
I'll see you at the end of the month when you're on Cape Cod.....
