Suki's page for Lisa's book

Acrylic on watercolor paper with dried johnny jump ups. Several layers of paint as the first attempt didn't work so I painted over it. Sun and border done with gold marker.

The back of the page. Now it travels on to Katie Jane.

I've been silent for awhile as I havent had much to say. Just wanting to be inward. Tending to some teeth issues, ugh, which will mean going to a specialist for an abscess. Ugh more. Going back and forth, back and forth. A house I saw in Northfield has come down $5000. Owners (an estate) anxious I would think. I just wish Northfield wasnt so far afield.

Hello Suki! These pages are truly wonderful. I love the layering you have done with them...Lisa is going to love these so much!

I know how it is to need to be silent. Sometimes we just need time for silence in order to be able to hear what we need to do.

I think I remember passing through Northfield when I was driving from Amherst to Montpelier (would that be true?). There is not a lot in that area, but there is also not a lot of distance between places in the east (unless you are talking about winter driving). The thing is only you know what is comfortable for you and the concessions you are willing to make.

I think of you a lot, my friend!

Kim, you probably drove through Northampton. Which is a lot livelier than Northfield. Northampton is in the midst of the 5 college area with lots of movies, events, classes etc. Northfield is still the boonies. But houses are way cheaper there

Good luck for teeth issues, I know about those, ugg, as you say.

The pages are really great, love the greens. Johnny jump ups? that's the name for the flowers? In Germany we call them "little mother in laws":):)cause they have this "uptight" smile when you look closer:)LOL
have a great evening, and I so understand the need to go inwards,
love
Andrea

Hi Suki. Love the page for Lisa's book. Your paintings are so magical. Oh, and I really like the right-side of your blog "the world according to Suki!" what a cute idea. I may be wierd, but I enjoy seeing what you are eating (chicken and broccoli - yum!), what you're reading, and that you to have teeth issues!!
XO Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Oh, so awful to have tooth problems. I feel for you. Hope you don't experience too much pain.
Lovely page for Lisa's book.
I don't know where Northfield is but a price reduction is good, yes? Hope it is a house you like.
I, too, am feeling somewhat silent. Not a lot to post about at the present.

Dear Suki, I love that you have collaged dried flowers into the painting, what a lovely idea.

I understand the need to be quiet at times, I go through quite a few myself. The great thing is when you come back to do a posting, your followers are there to enjoy your lovely words and images.

Hi Suki,

Now that you tell me, I think you are right about Northampton. Isn't it always the way that in the areas further afield, the houses are less expensive? So the question is do you want 'tiny in the center of things' or 'a bit larger further out'? Don't you wish you could snap your fingers and it was done? I have felt that way with houses so many times.

Thank you for your wonderful insights and wisdom on my blog.

Hugs!

Beautiful pages. I enjoyed enlarging and seeing the little houses in the background. Maybe one has your name on it.
Not a lot to say from here either,,other than winter has arrived today.I guess I'll deal with it.(smile)
Good luck with all things dental,,,

Acrylics are great for quickly drying and painting over. The Johnny Jump Ups are a nice natural/organic touch. Gold markers are like gold gilding.
