IMAGINE PEACE TOWER by Yoko Ono

I heard Yoko on the radio today and so looked up this video. It is long, but very beautiful. I've always liked Yoko.

I recently went to a museum show and saw two Yoko Ono works-- one was a piece of cloth in which we were invited to step on.
and the other was a wall with a hammer and nails nearby and we were invited to hammer anything we wanted-- sock, ticket, receipts, whatever we had on the wall. She is a very interesting conceptual artist.

Suki, I just woke up from a nap, visited your blog, and watched this video. As Yoko said, somehow just knowing the Peace Tower is there is healing.

I never knew about it before and want to post this on my blog so others can feel what I felt watching the video.

The works that layers mentioned, sounded so interesting and interactive and somehow understandable at the same time.

Thank you also, for your recent comment on my blog. I am taking it all to heart...

Thanks for posting this video. I visited Reykjavik in 2001...it is a remarkable area and a perfect place for this tower of peace.

Layers, many years ago I bought Ono's book Grapefruit which I still have somewhere. She is a thoughtful artist. I saw a show of hers in Syracuse many yrs ago too.

Teri, I wish I could see this tower of light for real. It is lovely and i was very moved by the video.

Patti, I have always loved this song too. Just beautiful.

blue sky, i am currently reading a mystery set in this town, which sounds like a fascinating and different place. I like the idea of the light tower at the "top"of the world.

Annie, this video moved me very much too.

She's done so much to keep his memory/music alive.
Good for her!
