hope is a thing with wings

There has been some movement, I think, in my journey to find a place to live.

1) talked with a personal coach who will work with me to help me over my hump re: fears around finding a place to live. Our first session is on Sunday.

2) felt inspired after our introductory talk. With an upset stomach (nerves) I called my upper cape Realtor and inquired as to whether the little white house (#2) was still available. After not hearing from her for 24 hours I called again. The house is sold. Still, a major step as I HATE making such phone calls, always feel I am pestering people. But I must do this assertive step in order to create the reality I want.

3) received an email from an upper cape friend re: two houses for sale that she had noticed. One was for sale by owner. I called the owner and the little renovated ranch she described sounded wonderful. It even had a gas fireplace and a screened porch and master bedroom with attached half bath. However, way above my price range comfort zone. I remember this house. Right next to a graveyard. Just up the road from 217. I could adjust my price range comfort zone upward, yet would I? It felt super good to hear from my friend though and just this boosted my spirits tenfold.

4) am giving up looking for houses in New Hampshire/Vt which is not where I want to live even though I get more house for the money here. I will focus on the upper cape and the mid-lower cape.

5) began writing three morning pages, a la Julia Cameron, each day.

6) turned my attention outward. I have been ignoring the beautiful days and landscape. Sat last night out on the grass with dragonflys darting around me. Hope is a thing with wings.

Oh Suki, I am so proud of you. These are major steps toward finding a place to live. Good for you. You really werent that keen on the one that sold anyway with the street noise. But now knowing you want to live on the cape is big time major steps. This Coach will be good for you. The sunroom sounds great for the kitties and you. :) Thats what sold our house to me when I first saw it on line. Never been sorry either.
Oh and I cant believe its been a whole year already that your Sis in Law passed away. wow. Time really does fly.

I love the new header! It is pure poetry.

Congrats on the decisions. You have really narrowed your vision and are following the desires of your heart. We cannot find home sweet home until we know where we really want to hang our heart.

I am delighted you sat amongst the dragonflies and soaked in the beauty right around you. Keep moving forward, sweet friend -- a gentle step at a time will become a way of life as you ease into a new home and a new joy in the moment. It WILL happen . . . you WILL succeed . . . God will NOT fail you.

What a refreshing moment I have spent here with you. I think I shall take away this measure of pure peace and simply shut off the computer, go brew a pot of lavender earl grey tea, and sit down for a quiet spell of prayer and meditation. I shall have to remain indoors due to the smoke drifting from a nearby fire (we had ash raining down on our outdoor meal last eve). I shall steep in peace and joy and wish the very same for you.

Have a splendid day of rest, sweet Suki.

Cris, thanks for your positive words. I am relieved to finally let go of the idea of living up north. so now I can really focus on being where I really want to be.

I know. The year went quickly. I feel blessed to still be here on this earth and to be able to watch the dragonflies.

Debbie thanks for your lovely words. Your respite of tea and prayer sounds perfect. Fire? You arent near the Santa Cruz fires are you? I hope they put it out soon.

Good for you, Suki!
I just couldn't picture you up there in all that cold weather forever.
Such a gorgeous photo!
Now (like the dragonfly) you are free to take wing toward your hope, and dreams!
I'm excited!

I know JUST how you feel about phone calls and feeling you are pestering. That's a hard one to overcome, as I've been working on it for decades.

Good for you for getting outside! And that's great news that you're going to work with a coach.

Thank you everyone for your kind words as I proceed on my journey which I think is probably about something more than just a house, but is a kind of work with something within me that has been frozen or blocked. What exactly I am not sure. but something.

That's a huge step Suki. I'm glad to hear you're concentrating on the Cape.
The dragonflies were out here last night as well - up in the sky as far as the eye could see and darting around us in the yard. Beautiful.

Good for you Suki getting an unemotional coach to help you through this very emotional time. Hope does have wings.

beautiful post Suki. It's full of hope. It sounds as if you're moving and growing in the right direction. A dose of the outdoors may have been just what you needed. Nature always restores me.
I predict a not so future post about you moving with kitties and boxes on your way to the Cape ;)

One coaching tool is to write the next chapter of your life as if it had already happened - just the way you want.
I know your new home is just waiting for you and at your price too!

I couldn't agree more--- listening to the news yesterday really got me down and then I read your post about hope with wings. You never know what will give you hope and what will end up in your work.

First prize!!! Wow!!!!
Good luck on the house hunt...again.
Cape sounds good, so you. Hey if you can meet the monthly payment you can afford it. Go girl! Get what you WANT as you will undoubtedly be living there a long long time.
Excited for you. Breathe those nerves away...(use the CD...did you get one?)

Oh, I am so behind in visiting and even in updating my blog, but I smiled when reading this "dragonfly" post. I think that sometimes our friends accomplishments push us to make some of our own.

I am feeling very stagnant and not moving much at all, so I am pleased that you are making forward movement.

That being said, I need to post another journal entry as just sitting here, I am thinking of things that are moving along here...just not my basement.
