Haiku tuesday by old pajamas

I took this photo of old pajamas earlier in the year (posted with his permission). He has been writing poetry for many years, mainly haiku and tanka. At the present moment he is getting a lot of poems published. He is the author of a book of haiku called Biting the Buddha published in 2000 and reviewed by Robert Wilson in Simply Haiku. For a free copy email bluecottage2005@yahoo.com Here are a few of his poems.

in sandals
caught in sudden snow
uncertain
which path to follow
home or to tea with you
(published in Simply Haiku)

I had no choice
but to pull the wool
over your eyes
so empty inside I'd chop
off a finger to please you

bamboo so thick
I can't remember
moonlight

I love writing haiku and have my own book that I keep putting them in.

I have known old pajamas since the early 80's. We were out of touch for many years though, but got back in touch about 5 years ago.

By the way, the bamboo poem just won third place in a Haiku contest by Moonset.

I like all three but the third is a favorite. A very interesting looking fellow.

It is nice to meet you, old pajamas! You are clearly in good company with Suki...we all love her!

Suki, I love these poems and am glad OP allowed you to share him here. I really love the bamboo poem a lot...maybe that is because I have been working on a bamboo painting! :-)

Thanks so much for sharing OP here, Suki!

I know nothing about Haiku but looks interesting. When was the photo taken?

Words like paintings, the conjure a multitude of images. The man looks very cool, as if in winter:)
Wonderful, I still have to understand what a Haiku is. Will look it up. But these are talking to me.
Have a wonderful day
love
Andrea

Those are just stunning. Such power compressed into a small space. Then again, that's what haiku is, no?

Thank you for posting old pajamas' likeness--in image and word.

Yours is a fine blog, Suki.

I was wrong about the name of the book I had that I thought your friend was published in. The name of the book I was thinking of is Haiku Mind.
