More from Cape Cod

Rain, rain, rain. I've only worn my shorts on the one sunny day a few days ago. Oh well. I love looking down through the water at the life going on below.

North Falmouth beach area. Thanks to everyone for your comments on yesterday's post. Part of my house problem is not just the prices but my reluctance to commit to anything. Is it a wonder I am not married??

A lovely tree in my host's yard. Meanwhile though I have narrowed my choices down to two ranch style houses one on the upper Cape and one on the mid/lower Cape.

Beautiful small lilies. My offers would be very low so most likely they won't be accepted. But I suppose it would be good for me to make the step anyway. I am taking today to meditate on the matter.

Hi Suki,
oh, commitment. Often it means giving up some of the beloved independance. So the thing, we are committing to, we want it to be something great, something "worth it". And we know that the less we have, the less difficulties there will be to part with it. Hmmm. I'm not sure I'm making sense here to anybody except myself, LOL

Take care. You'll find the perfect house, soon.
love
Andrea

I think I get what you mean andrea. I know it is time for me to "grow up." Not that you said that of course.

Don't be angry but I laughed at your commitment statement Suki. Talk about self-awareness. I hope one of these houses works for you. Your photos of the area are so beautiful that I want you to live there!!

Oh Suki, so it's hard to commit, isn't it ironic 'commit' and 'commited'? It's difficult and you have no one in particular to help you it seems. I still think that your home is there somewhere and you will find it in time. The process is difficult and the reward should be worth it in the end. Good luck. Lovely photos!

Yeah, that commitment thing...big problem.

Love the photos, and relate as far as the weather (actually have been complaining about it endlessly, but, last week, saw my brother and his family who live up your way--clearly it's been worse, there)--but, fortunately, summer finally appears to have arrived, just over this past weekend down here.

Best wishes to you and yours.

Living on Cape Cod is one of my longstanding fantasies. Hope you find a well-priced jewel!

Ah... you need to send out POSITIVE vibes. Sometimes you have to leap at something or you never will get there. We have a ranch style home and its just right for us. Remember this.. IF you aways do what you've always done then you'll will always get what you've always got. Hoping for some positive news about those homes.

Oh, I can just see you there...I so hope that happens. And there will be sunny days ahead...I just know it (maybe you will just have to live there to see them, teehee)

Don't take too long to think about it. Usually, if I go with my first impulse, it is the right one. I think you put it in a nutshell when you said you had a fear of commitment. Just take the plunge and deal with the consequences. How bad could it be?

Anyway, I love your photos of the shore. I always miss it.

Having a roof over my head, whatever the size, in an area that I love - I'd commit to that!

I feel that you are getting warmer tho Suki, that something will happen soon.

I like to watch those waters edges too. It is so soothing.

So glad you are back. I missed you!
The prices are not high next to Taos prices or at least much the same. That is what happens when you want to live where everyone else wants to live :-). I say keep looking there, I feel so much it is the place for you.

Is it time to let go of one thing? To choose another? To begin a new path? To live a new way?

Praying for you, sweet friend.

Yes, make the offers anyway. At the very least, it gives you practice and limbers you up, gets you ready to make that next offer when THE ONE says BUY ME! And, who knows? PS I cannot fault you for being hesitant in the commitment area, as I am also unmarried and without house. :) It's not so bad.

I've read your blog since I started blogging. I've always thought of you as a smart, strong woman, sad recently after some personal sadness. Now is the time to show me, everyone, you still have 'it'.
The Cape is fantastic and I believe you'll find a home, a real place that you will be able to call your own..........x

Hello Sukipoet,
I'm back from the holidays! - I wish you all the best for your decision on your houses!

I read Kate's comment about going with the first impulse. I've noticed that people who choose their paintings in that way are happy with them. Those who second guess themselves sometimes lose out to a more impulsive soul, then regret they let the "perfect" painting get away.

Probably not a fair comparison, since a house is a bigger investment and the place we live. Still, it's good you're making those offers. Good luck with it all!

I have 2 friends who have the hardest time making decisions. It's really painful for them.

I bought my car in 20 minutes, my camera in less than five minutes. For me, being hasty has often been my problem.

The right decision will present itself to you and I know you're wise enough to be able to recognize that.

I'll keep watching and listening ;)
