Here is another carving by my ex-husband which he had given to my parents. This is just a segment. I think that is me at the table. I need to tell that woman to do more yoga.
Meanwhile that woman is going to Cape Cod for a long weekend. About 10 people are gathering for a writing retreat at a private home. I am looking forward to this. I am going a day early so I can look at some real estate on Friday. Nevertheless, I am thinking I may have to give up on Cape Cod real estate. Too much money for too little. I am beating my head against a brick wall. I have done this before in my life. I really don't want to keep doing it. The brick wall isnt going to change. It is I who needs to change. Be well, happy spring Suki

I am excited for you, going on your trip. I hope you have lots of fun, and please stop beating your head on bricks. We like you the way you are. Just keep opening doors. You'll find the right one when it's time.
Oh, have a great time, Suki!
Really enjoyed seeing this, another very nice sculpture.
Had to laugh at your comment about the woman needing more yoga.
Yeah, don't beat up on yourself, Kate's right. Your door is there, where ever your 'there' is supposed to be; Cape or not.
his work is spectacular, was he able to make a living from it? i would buy his stuff, it's way terrific.enjoy the weekend, and yes, when the time is right the right door will open for you, don't be so hard on yourself.
I like this piece, very nice. I hope you have a wonderful trip and keep your options open, you never know, usually when you least expect it...don't take it out on your head~!
Great trip ahead for you...a retreat is so perfect! Laugh as often as possible!
Head beating against bricks must be stopped!
Interesting piece of craved art. It looks to me as though the woman is sad with her head on an ironing board.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the writing retreat. Sounds fantastic!!!!
What a delemia having to pay for scenery and live in a smaller abode...or live in more abode with less scenery??? Is that it?
Good luck with all of it.
Oh, and I MISS SEEING YOUR ART!!!!! Just so you know. ;-)
Have fun. Enjoy the company and maybe something will work out. One never knows when or how. It ain't over till the fat lady sings. :))
We had to move away from somewhere I loved to get something WE wanted. Space and Beauty..also had to take the wet & cold which wasnt really what we wanted, but we have never been sorry for the move.
Enjoy, enJOY, enjoy . . .
The Cape should be a lovely place to rest and open up the writer's gift.
Brick walls can fence in or out, provide shelter or barrier . . . we choose.
Be well, my friend Suki who paints and poeticizes and ponders plentifully.
The Retreat sounds wonderful! Enjoy!
I love the sculpture, your ex really was quite a sensitive talent.
I'm looking at Real Estate too at the moment and finding the same thing. It's me who has to face the truth of what we can afford and where we can go, which is not necessarily the dream I have conjured up in my head. You're so right about it being our selves that need to change.
I'm hoping that when the time is right, the right thing will appear. Usually 'something' happens to push us in the direction we need to go.
While I'm praying for guidance for us on this, I'll say a couple for you too!!
P.S. You're such a nut enjoying listening to the washing machine!!
:) :)
Have a great time. Maybe your writing will bring you to some decision. I know it must be difficult having this hanging over your head.
A writing retreat sounds like something that will help lead you down the right path. I sure hope so. Maybe the decision to go a day early is significant.
Have fun Suki! Don't give up on Cape Cod, miracles happen and if that is where you want to live, keep trying! Easy for me to say :-).
Have a good weekend on the Cape - and I agree not to give up - but it must be painful to have head hitting brick wall. What about some of the obscure towns on the cape or near the entrance to the cape (isn't Mashpee down there?)
Anyway, I'm sure you'll do what's right for you.
The woman in the sculpture looks either (1) very tired or (2) very depressed and sad. I hope it was tired.
Take care
You'll have aheadache.. do some yoga instead.
As Katie Jane says keepopening those doors.....
Have a wonderful, inspirational weekend x
You may be "on the verge" of finding some place perfect. Hope you enjoy the retreat. Perhaps this time away is exactly what you need. Happy house hunting!
hi there--would you consider hyannis? there are some really good buys here and some very sweet houses. i love living in hyannis...call me while you're here if you want--i have way more time this time ;-)
Have a lovely time in Cape Cod.
May your weekend be replenishing and inspiring, Suki!
Like Babs, I chuckled over your yoga comment.
his art is really stunning...
lots of talks in this work...
love the way man's hands are... one holding the child and the other on woman's back...
wow... this sounds great... to have a wonderful time with other writer friends...
enjoy.... you really deserve it... dearest Suki...
A writing retreat! Oh that's wonderful Suki. Enjoy the time to let the creativity flow ... remember your word for the year, wasn't it openness? Perhaps creativity in this one area will have resonance in the rest of your life too .... peace to you!
Have a wonderful retreat, Suki. I hope your write yourself into some answers. <3
How awesome to go to a writer's retreat on Cape Cod!!! Sounds idyllic. It is fascinating for me to see you see a pattern in yourself and grapple with it. I can't wait to see what bubbles to the surface.
I love getting together with creative like-minds! I hope it restores you.
The right place will find you Suki.
It will rise up to greet you ;)
~namaste~
suki, would you like to have a virtual cup of coffee together and talk about the cape and brick walls and being lost and found?
i hope some cape realtor shows you something affordable that sings.
love to you, suki
Dear Suki
I hope you will have a great time there!
And find your dreamhouse for a reasonable price......
Don´t worry thew right house will come along.....
hug >M<
missing you, hope something 'spoke' to you while you were away. award for you on my blog- posting now. hugs.
Oh Suki, I'm hoping you are enjoying/did enjoy your writing retreat.
I'm a big believer that the universe answers our calls--not always the way that we expect her to, but answers them all the same. You'll find the place you need, I think.
