Opening part II

Opening. This is my one word theme for 2009. Let my mind, heart and soul be open to receive direction from the universe as to what to do next, where to live. Let my hands be open, unclenched. Let my toes be open and my jaw. Let all of me be open.

As Laurel wrote in the comments on my amaryllis post: "You hold new life in the palm of your hand."

What I hope for is to find a place where I can live with my two cats, where I can read and write and paint and laugh with friends. From which place I can travel to new places to visit and see and then return home to....this place. This unknown to me now place. May I be open to receive inspiration, kind words, new ideas, spiritual sustenance when it is offered to me. May I be wise enough to see and hear these blessings when they arise.

Lovely prayer for new beginings. I say much the same each new year, as I usually feel directionless. We can only live one day at a time; may each of yours be filled with wonder.

Focus, think, decide, be flexible---that's my strategy for healthy change---oh and know that your answer is already given.

BTW I accepted your tag and award; both are available for viewing! (occasionally, only occasionally, I'm a bit over the top!)

That is a lovely way to start the new year. Being open is a most important thing. I know as you stay open the Universe will lead you and guide you to your best place :-). Trust that is so. XOXO

Dear Suki,

I sense a thrill in the unknown for you. God has plans for us, but often times we are so firmly attached to what we can see or hold that we miss the blessings cascading down all around us. Your open palms and open heart and seeking soul will find The Best. I delight in praying alongside you and watching the petals of new life unfurl.

A Promise for YOU:

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Another Promise:

"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
(Jeremiah 29:13)

What a wonderful way to start the Fresh New Year. : ) Blessings to you, my sweet, sweet friend.

Opening. That is a great word to guide you in 2009. I will be sending you good energy for finding your new home. Or allowing it to find you! Namaste.

OPENING,,,perfect theme.
I always pray that I will recognize His direction when it comes,,,,like you said, staying OPEN to all possibilities. They aren't always what we'd expect, but they're always what's best for us.

Happy New Year to you Suki.
Opening. What a lovely word to choose as your theme for 2009. It is perfect. It is hard to remain open, we all have our plans and our ideas of how things ought to go. Being open is probably the greatest gift we can give ourselves ...

It makes me think of choosing a word for 2009. I have a couple of words that guide my life in general ... and it has taken me a couple of years to incorporate them into my life, so I have just rechosen them year after year ... but perhaps time to choose one for this year. I have goals though - that always helps :)

Opening like a lotus flower.. There is much excitement ahead of you and it's ood to work with the physical first. Relax and let life unfold the way you see it in your heart & mind.

Wonderful times ahead of you Suki. I feel it too.

Thanks Katie Jane. Hey, love your new picture. Feeling directionless, that's me. I think in much of my life I was partly directionless and just fell into things. But I must have a bit of direction to find a place to live. Or maybe not.

Thanks Cynthia. My answer is already given? Is that true. And i just have to see it? Interesting idea.

Annie, guess you are safely back home? I do think trust is very important as I go through these small preliminary steps to finding my best place.

Thanks Teri.

KJ thanks. And you are welcome re: review. Good luck with your book and may the process of getting it out there and seen be one of joy for you.

Thanks Debbie. I know i must just trust and place one foot in front of the other. thanks for the quotes. They are lovely promises. May your year be one of fulfilled promise too.

thanks Kelly. Yes, maybe it will find me rather than me finding it. I can feel that good energy already!!

Thanks Babs, for reminding me to stay open to the unexpected too. What i see may not be what I picture in my thoughts. We shall see......

Honor, good to hear from you. I agree, it is hard to remain open. Maybe I will have to remind myself daily. I like what you say about choosing words that guide your life and the way it may take awhile to integrate them. Patience perhaps is something for me to keep in mind, whereas I feel a bit impatient right now.

Patti, thanks you. I will hold that thought in my mind of the lotus flower opening and the wonderful times ahead as I walk slowly through this cold, windy snowy winter.

Make your intentions clear and put it out there Suki! Shout it if you have to! I have a friend who gets nearly everything she asks for. I'm not talking about material things, but she found the perfect place to live when she needed it, and she found assistance for her mom, etc. She can manifest like nobody's business :)

I love the photo and I'm honored you quoted me. And I love your word. Being open is good. Just think of all the joy that can settle there.

i look forward to sharing in your journey this year suki. i will put my two cents in for western mass — it is a wonderfully enlightened, artistic area to live in, but pretty far from the ocean i know you love (as i do!)

Patience is a hard one, Suki.

Here are mine (for my life, that is): vigilance, integration, authenticity.

Brilliant, opening, what a word!
Go for it Suki. It's a wonderful beginning. So much to think of.
ps I've read several Mary Wesley books. Someone has just passed Part of the Furniture on to me....

I have seen lots of these "one word" themes for the new year. I really like yours...very postive and exciting. Such a word of faith in what the future brings.

Mim said...

"open" is a great word/theme for 2009 - we all have to be open to change and to open our hearts to some of the more difficult things that are happening.
Where will you look for a place? Do you want to go back to the cape? I wish you, of course, all the luck and love in the world for your next journey.
have you read "the secret"? possibly hokey- possibly totally true.

Suki, thank you so much for these wonderful worlds, which are good to read and to remember! This place, your home, I'm looking forward to your discovering it, it waits for you, somewhere:)

Andrea

When I was looking for a place to settle, I would take off for a couple of days and look around a city and get a feel for the area. I also researched before I left the driveway but I would imagine it is too difficult here in the winter. Is the Cape Cod area off your list? Maybe the computer is your best tool?

What a wonderful attitude, I know that with patience and attentiveness God will reveal his direction for you physically as well as spiritually. Your post is uplifting.

When the time comes you will know what to do. You probably deep in side have some idea of where you want to live. It will happen. It was nice being close to your son there tho. Yes keeping mind and heart open to all things is very benefitial to our existance and happiness.
What will your Brother do with TWO homes?

what a perfect word for a perfect time in your life!!! i love it!

laurel, that is so great about your friend. Inspirational. I do agree, I should shout out loud into the universe. Once I decide what to shout. :)

M Heart I have always liked Western Mass and I even applied for a job once at a college there which I did not get. But what I mean is I seriously considered moving there at one time.

Honor, thanks for sharing the qualities you are integrating into your life. They are hard ones too I'd say. Blessings.

Jude, I am very much enjoying "Part of the Furniture." Almost done but am parcing out the end chapters to make it last longer.

Karen, you are right. It implies having faith and trust that all will evolve at its own pace and in its own time and all I need to do is remain open. :)

Mim, I havent read "The Secret" but think I saw it at the library. I might return to the cape, where I would not be able to afford a house. I might a condo though, a small one.

sukipoet said...

Andrea, thank you. I await the revelation too.

thank you Britt-arnhild. It is an adventure for sure.

BSD, the way I think I might best find my new home is as you describe. Driving here or there and being there and feeling it out with my presence. I have used the internet in the past and only gotten confused and tangled up in ideas. Maybe this really is a time to follow my intuition and to actually explore places. I havent given up on returning to the Cape yet. Yes, it is hard to explore in the winter for sure. I am a coward on icy roads.

thank you artist unplugged. And welcome to my blog.

Cris, what my brother will do with two homes right next to each other I do not know. It just grates on me that he got this house handed to him for free. I think he wants to live in this house and I find it hard to believe he will ever clear out the other house of his piles and piles of junk. It just boggles my mind. today I had a thought though. To buy some coffee so I can make him a cup and invite him over for a chat. Try to find out more about him and get to know him better since he is right here and so am I. Of course as with all men in the family he doesnt talk much but worth a try.

OPENING. A wondrous word. A magical word. Abracadabra: your place will reveal itself. Will it be unveiled, slowly and with mystery? Or will it jump out of the hat?

sukipoet said...

Soulbrush, again i thank you for your generosity. You warm and yes...open my heart.

San, how delightful these thoughts are. a gradual opening or a leap. Maybe some of each?

Suki, you are off on a new adventure and I feel quite sure you are absolutely wise enough to know just the right place when it presents itself to you! I think this sounds fantastic and am eager to follow your journey with you!

Thank you for these wonderful words which I also have found so inspiriting. May I quote you?

sukipoet said...

Soulbrush, you are so kind and generous. I wish i were a brave soul but you know, I have only once been out of the USA and that was to Canada. Not a very big adventure. But i will hold your invitation close to my heart and keep it in mind.

human being, thank you for your words and thoughts: a noble choice. Hmmm. Keeping in mind that we libra's have a very hard time choosing, I hope I can do it.

sukipoet said...

San, perhaps it will be both slow and mysterious and also jump out of the hat. Is that possible?

Kim, so sorry. I didnt see your question until today, thursday. Oh yes, do quote me. I still think patience and not giving in to fear and anger is my key to evolving my answer.
