Suki, this is great. Here is something funny, when I first saw this in small form on the "blogs I am following" on the dashboard, I thought you had drawn a plank of wood with peeling paint. Of course, the larger image was clear as glass.

You are doing a great job with these sketches, Suki! Thank you for sharing them with us.

I'm about to finish my sketch book too. Was hoping to finish out the month in it but doesnt look like I will. Its getting hard to keep it up now but I committed myself the month so I will finish and it will be fun to have the drawings to look back on. Glad you see you have stuck to it too and its been run watching what you draw and your progress with your book. good drawing here.. but what has become of Blaze???

Suki,
Love how you've drawn your supplies.
A friend of mine painted a handful of her brushes, sticking up out of a sloppy 'ol butter tub. Used, worn out looking, loved. I so lust for that painting, lol,,,one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately, it's one of hers too, and she can't part with it, for love OR money!

PS: Someday I will abstract and paint your header. It's a promise I've made to myself,,,,love it, and will hate to see it leave as seasons change.
Happy Saturday!

HI Elizabeth. Thanks for your email and for reading the novel excerpt. Will answer email soon. Thanks re: banner too. I love to imagine I live in that white house with porch.

Kim, those little thumbnails do sometimes give an odd impression. Actually I thought this image might be a bit off, a puzzling image as I drew it funny but I guess you knew what it was. Thank you for faithfully LOOKING at these images.

Cris, it's funny but the first ten or so pages of my sketchbook now finished were the Blaize sketches. I guess she went into retirement for awhile. :)

Babs it would be fun to see what you would do with the header. I'm not positive, but you might be able to click on that and transfer the photo to your desktop so you could refer to it. It would be okay by me. I love paintings of paintbrushes and art supplies too. I also paint paintings I dont want to let go of. However, if someone is really crazy about it and if in addition they offer me money, I say goodbye. I had just finished an assemblage of handmade paper and other things and hung it on my wall and barely had time to get used to it when a friend offered my $300. OK. But i have known artists who part with their work with great diffiuculty too. :)

I get so involved in your art I keep forgetting to mention how much I love your header so I'm glad Elizabeth said it.

Interesting ink sketch. Supplies are always so interesting.

This is beautiful, Suki. Dylan is with me right now, and he thinks it's a picture of train tracks "but more different". He loves it.

Suki, I know what you mean,,,haha,,,not that hard for me to let my stuff go either. Of course, maybe I've just never created something that intensly personal,,that spoke to me that strongly. Good idea about saving your header to the desktop, but I can't paint from this room where the computer is;our office.I'm much too sloppy. I could however just block it in maybe, in something less messy than paint, maybe oil pastel.
When the time is right, I suppose I'll know. Thanks for the 'go-ahead'!

Teri thanks. All in all, that is a popular picture I guess.

Belle and Dylan. I lvoe that. Train tracks but more different. Well, indeed it does resemble train tracks. Dylan, thanks.

Hey Babs, just go for it. I am reading anovel right now about two painters, a brother and a sister. I love it. It's so well drawn. The brother has just died and the sister is in her 80's. The author looks quite young but I feel she is drawing the elderly characters quite well. Expecting rain and the leaves are all falling in the wind.

I think it's great that we all take a different approach to the Big Draw. You are learning - which I so admire, and trying new things and sticking to one sketch book. I am helter skelter with my books, or sheets of paper with sketches and drawings and haven't taken this time to learn more about different ways of doing things. Whatever - but what I have learned is that there are books to read that stimulate your thoughts and experiments. Perhaps over Christmas.....
Anyway, I really like your drawings and I do think its interesting the way you draw yourself. I agree that you look sterner than you really seem to be -
Have a happy rainy Sunday, maybe it'll stop....

Thanks Natalya and have a blast in Houston.

Mim, yes, I took the challenge on as a time to experiment. It was helpful to have the book to follow as a guide. Lots cheaper than taking a class. It is interesting to observe everyone's different styles of approach. Re: self portraits, it would be interesting to draw one every day and see how they varied (I just thought of this) according to mood and other subjective influences. Hmmm, maybe next yr for the big draw. Draw on.
