Big Draw #2

08 Micron Pen. My trusty little Nikon Cool Pix. My companion. Last year when I did the big draw I drew primarily in pencil with eraser at my side. It was only toward the end of the month that I dared draw in PEN. Well, look at this, a pen drawing on day two.

Andrea, yes, it is a fun task. I like your work and was just thinking about the way I delineate things as tasks. OK, today my tasks are....

Aren't you the brave one! Good for you. I like the rendition of your small camera here. Nice lines.

Yes very nicely done. I am still in need of pencil. Probably because I drew my first drawing out while watching a movie. oops. I ran out of time to do it. lol
I am glad I joined again. I feel like I will get back into the groove of it now I am officially in.

Fabulous Suki!

I know the "swift intake of breath" when you go from pencil to ink! It is terrifying! But look at you! I don't think you have much of a transition to deal with at all!

We do love our cameras, don't we? My daughter has one of these Coolpix cameras and says it is just perfect for her. Of course, it is a Nikon! :)

Beautiful work is going on here, Suki!

Annie you are a dear. If you like any of my drawings as we go thru the month just tell me and I'll send them to you. I dont think I could ever charge money for them. Of course, after I die they will be worth a fortune :) :)

thanks Lynn. the camera has such a nice simple shape to render.

Soulbrush, thanks. It was the cord that was the most fun to do.

Cris, hope you find that pencil and eraser. This challenge is fun at the beginning when everything seems fun to draw. I remember though I began to run out of subjects about mid month last time.

Thanks a lot kim. Of course if I mess up an ink drawing I can just rip it up and not show it. :) Or is that cheating??!!

...and what a great pen drawing it is too! What a difference a year makes! Lovely work as always Suki, so happy you are here participating.
Hugs.
Happy Drawing!

PS thanks for the nice comment about the English on my blog :-))

Elizabeth I'm glad you are participating as now we get to hear from you more often. Hurrah.

I found that when I use pencil (with eraser handy) I spend far too much time trying to be "perfect". So how I got myself drawing, just before The Big Draw actually, was to use my sharpie fine pen and looseleaf paper. I'm learning a lot that way actually. Oh, and when I use pencil I hide my eraser - so I have to work harder to make changes. Sometimes it is whatever works :)

Suki, that is so sweet to offer to give me a drawing, but I really think they are worth something. I will do a drawing for you someday soon and we can do a trade, I have a love for that first flower drawing :-).

Catching up on all your lovely posts. The colour in your angel painting is so soft, yet vibrant at the same time - I love it!

Glad you're in the big draw again. I will check in every day, your drawings are just great.

I love pen & ink drawings too and I am inspired to do some now (probably a little late to join the big draw tho) except I'm supposed to be making some ATC's. So much to create & so little time!:)

Privacy in the studio? I like to be in the studio when no-one else is around, (door open so dog & cat can wander in & out & so I don't feel too much like a hermit!)

Cos when everyone is home they walk past and disturb me, or stop to talk, which is lovely, but breaks the creative meditation.

Good Suki.

It is all about practice and the eyes which see, isn't it :-)

welcome difference a year makes. Had to chuckle about your hiding your eraser. Using loose leaf paper seems less threatening I guess. I once had a huge roll of brown paper which my son used to draw and paint on when little, but I also. It too seemed less threatening than a blank white page.

Mim, you are mistress of the succinct phrase.

Annie, I'll save that drawing and be glad to trade.

Patti thanks for your reflections. I joined the big draw a few days, maybe even a week late last year and it was fine. If you still want to.

Thanks for the kind words re: angel. And drawings. And your sharings re: open or closed doors. so far I havent closed the door so we'll see.

Britt-arnhild, as per usual you are right on the nose. Colette says her mom taught her to see on their walk when she said "Look" and pointed out the world to her. Look see draw.(Is that like Eat, Pray, Love?)

I admire people who can draw and dare to do it in pen!
I love my Nikon too! It is a compagnion for me as well, cool I never thought about it that way.....

Marianne, dont know if I can draw, but I do it. Funny how a camera, a machine, can feel like a companion, isnt it?
