Sandyfoot

Ah, to be barefoot in the sand, my idea of heaven.
Gorgeous weather. This is the Chatham Light House beach.
A storm must have torn this from its mooring out in the bay and left it here on the beach.
Seagull prints.
Blue skies, green dunes, and miles of sand. My heart aches for what has been left behind.

Suki, I just love those twinkle toes on the sand! I can understand why you are missing this very special place. I feel we all have at least one of those special geographical locations, but I find it sad for those who do not know where that might be for them.

I am so glad you had a lovely 4 days, Suki! You so deserved the time away. How did your mother get along?

Welcome back Suki, Missed you. I know what you mean about missing a place. Altho I am happy here I do miss the SO CAL Beach where we moved from. I want so to put my feet in that water. I missed out on all the Art festivals in Laguna Beach this year too. So I am so happy you got away for a few days.

PS...Did you get to visit many friends? I hope there will be more stories and pix of the time away. :)

I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to pull yourself away from that beach and ocean area.
The photos are beautiful and inticing. We are only an hour away from ocean beaches here and we didn't go enough this summer! I can feel the water over your toes!!! ;-) When will you go again I wonder and which area will you choose to settle in? Seeing your feet in water made me want to make a collage of feet. Several of us have posted our feet at one time or another here. May I use yours?

Hi Suki!
Glad to see you back on your blog!
Sorry that you are back in a place so far away from where your heart is.......
Lovely pictures, the beach the blue skies........yes sigh.......
But I hope you have had a wonderful time reloaded your battery and memories of meetings with old friends.
You have beautiful feet!
Wish mine look like that!
And yes Suki when we bicycled along the water we breath in and smelled the salt water. We love it!
I also love water and the beach.
I´m happy to live so close, I realize that!
Some day you can return Suki.......

Love >M<

Hello Andrea. You know I do think the quality of the oxygen is different at the shore vs in the mountains. The trip takes me 5 hours with several stops to rest and taking back roads part of the way. For me, it is a lot of driving, focusing on the road for that time. Thanks re: my feet. How funny.

Annie, where did you live by the sea and when???

Kim anywhere near water is good for me. I like large lakes or ponds too as long as I can have a sunny spot. Mom did well when I was gone, but seems very glad to have me back. I am sure she did not eat a full dinner when I was gone. I had precooked some pizza, which she loves, and made egg salad for her lunches. She seems very weary these last few weeks, slow. Thanks for asking Kim.

Cris I do intend another post about other aspects of the visit. Friends and so forth. I had a fun and inspiring time. Nice to be around people who talk. :)

Lynn, you are welcome to use my feet. Very funny. Feet are interesting for sure. I would love to live on Cape Cod again but I don't know if I can afford it. I will just have to wait and see. Another place that takes my heart is the southwest with all the sand and adobe. a place that USED to be under the sea.

Marianne, thank you. I hope to return to the sea too, but maybe a cheaper coastline than Cape Cod, if there is one. But maybe not Texas, Louisiana or Florida. The sea is so beautiful and so powerfully destructive at times or at least we humans call it destructive. It is just being itself. Sorry I missed your lovely picnic. Suki

I hope you had a nice trip to Cape Cod and that your mother is well, too. - You made some beautiful photos there!

Mary Ann, thank you so much. What you say is true, this life takes such courage. Courage i see around me in so many people and so many forms. I did have time for several gatherings. All enriching. Be well, Suki

Claudia, my vacation was short but I loved every minute. Thank you, Suki

Suki, I bet your mother picks back up now that you are back. I am sure she missed you at the same time she was eager for you to go and have a good time. Don't you think mothers can be like that. I am sure she feels so very blessed to have her girl there with her...I am sure she still thinks of you in that way!

How precious of you to think of things she would love to eat while you were away. I am sure there is a lot of challenge in finding things she is willing to eat.

soooo glad you're back, i missed you, how can that be possible, you live so far away from me...yet you weren't there...really strange feeling.
happy you had this break, although sadness pervailed, that's not a bad thing to give way to these feelings....hope mom was fine.

Kim, I think you are right that mom both wants me here yet wants me to have little vacations. I think she's perked up a bit, but i also think something subtle is going on with her health. But I may just be hypersensitive. Actually, Mom is easy to cook for as she likes almost everything. This may come from the fact that as a child she often went to be hungry. I don't know, but it makes it easier for me as cook.

Hi Mim. A less posh version of the Vineyard. Love it.

Honor, it is good to be back even though back is in the north country. I have moved 4 times in 4 years and am a person who now, any way, does not like to move a lot.

Soulbrush, I missed you too and everyone. It is good to feel the sadness around letting go of a life in the past to make room to accept the life of now. Thanks, Suki

Suki, I used to live in San Francisco before I moved here, and the ocean was very close, then I moved to Cambria, CA. I did not like the town much, but living near the ocean was heaven.

Oh Annie, I lived in San Francisco too back in 1967. It is where i met my husband now ex. I love love it. Have bits about SF in the novel I am working on. The pacific is very different from the atlantic for sure.

Suki I lived in S.F. for twenty years :-). It was the love of my life, but the love affair ended 13 years ago :-).

Annie you sound so practical. The love affair ended 13 years ago. I have kept this phrase in my mind recently re: Cape Cod. The love affair is over. Move on.
