This weekend brought a brief respite from the dark clouds, after this one passed on Saturday morning. I spent as much time as possible out in the sun, sweating, I love to sweat, and basking. Today, we are back to rain, thunder and so forth. Thank you to everyone for your kind words re: blue. Today--I will try to finish the last three wax collages and continue gluing up my art money.

Glad you got some sun :-). You love to sweat? I must say I hate it
:-). I am also happy your blue mood has lifed. Have a wonderful week dear Suki.
Thats a dramatic sky there. So glad you got out in the sunshine. That does help to life a blue mood.
Happy creating.
Hi Annie. My left brain would say I think sweat gets out some of the toxins. Also, since I never cry it is a form of crying. My right brain would say it doesnt know why I like to sweat. I just do. I don't sweat a lot, maybe that makes a difference. I heard a radio program about a business woman who sweat so much she would enter a board meeting or whatever with wet stains on her suit. She tried many things to control the sweat. What worked? Getting botox in her armpits. Ugh. just a happy thought to enter the week with!!!
Thanks for stopping by Cris. The skies are dramatic every day nowadays.
dear suki - what a lovely picture of the clouds - the dark and the light. i like pictures like this -- nothing is clear cut :) life is more interesting that way.
Yes, I'm going to NYC! I don't usually do a cruise, but I found a delightful one that takes me up the eastern coast of US, and then around the maritimes of Canada all in October. The colors will be beautiful I hear. I've had it booked for a year.
Can I tap your brain later? I will be making a day stop in Maine, and they will give me a list of things to pick from ... and would like to get your thoughts on where I should spend my limited time!
I would love a bit of rain falling on my parched gardens. These days are hot, though we are spared humidity (then again, the garden may enjoy water in the air).
Hearts are heavy around here as my daughter's engagement, which was merely in jeopardy, has broken. I will be brewing tea, extending love, and sitting by her side in silence. Blue as the sky ... full of hopes she doesn't even know exist ... yet. Prayers appreciated.
Rachel's paper parade is up for viewing if you have the time to stop by.
I neglected to mention the lovely art works below Suki. I like them all. They have such a light weight feel to them. The papers are pretty, the sparkels/embellishments add just the right touch, the women in the top one evoke an era of by gone days (even before my time) that make one wonder. They are having fun in their "bathing suits"...playful...
the middle one wants a frog floating on one of those leaves...
Glad you're hanging in there......
And that the sun shows up sometimes.... You know I like sunshine heat and sweating as well, then I feel alive.
I have made the post about your altered book for Dieuwke.
love >M<
Honor I hope you have a wonderful cruise. It sounds glorious. I lived in MA Massachusetts, and now in NH. I don't really know anything about ME Maine. I would guess they are docking at a popular tourist spot though with plenty of stuff to see and do. October is my birthday month and one of my favorite times of year. I envy you this peaceful time out on the water.
Hi Debbie. Well I think there are lots of dry places that would like a bit of this rain. Far more rain than usual for here. I have only watered my garden a few times all summer.
I'm so sorry about your daughter's engagement. How sad she must feel. She is lucky to have you for her mom though, you know just the right things to do. I send prayers for her healing.
I'll stop by your blog and check out the art works. Actually I did stop by the other day but didnt comment so I'm on my way. Be well, Suki
Lynn, thanks for the comments on the cards. The bathers are clipped from a copy of a photo from my gram's family. They had a cottage at the shore so there were lots of family at the beach photos is their funky bathing costumes. a frog. Very cute. Thinking of you and your upcoming son's wedding. So exciting.
Marianne, you are too sweet. I'll check out the post. I've been away from the computer today, errands, mucking with my craftworks, and catching the sun inbetween the rain. Blessings, Suki
Dear sukipoet,
first of all I want to say that I like the new colors on your blog! And then that your artwork is wonderful! And that your writing "blue"-entry)is sooo good, too!(Although it's a sad theme, all in all, how you presented it is so valuable and good literature!
...I understand you if you feel sometimes like cut up from the world, there. but at the other hand, it's exactly that what I would like to have...funny, don't you think?-I wish my neighbours would be 20 (or more) miles away; I wish I would be near to nature ( r e a l nature, not only some trees in the street), I wish I would see nobody going out of the house, only flowers and woods and the buzz of bees...
Take care,
hugs from
Claudia
nothing like some sunshine to chase the 'blues' away. sweating, yuk no thanks!used to love it when i was young!
Hello Claudia. Thank you for your kind words about my art and writing. That is so funny that where you would like to live is in nature and the country. And where I would like to live is in a more populated area. Maybe be could trade? :) Your paintings are so much about nature and the beauty of it around you that I can't imagine what wonders you might create in the midst of nature. Yet, maybe it is that desire for what you don't have that enriches your paintings too. Hugs to you, Suki
Soulbrush, you make me laugh. Hope you got a few bursts of sun there in chilly London town. Sounds fun going round to all those museuems too. Be well, Suki
Ah - I got my acronyms mixed up! But I am stopping in Boston too! The day trips that the cruise offers don't sound too bad, but nothing that really totally interests me. If you have any suggestions .... let me know :)
love the photo
great composition...
thanks human being. I was sort of proud to capture that bright blue sky besides the dark cloud which in fact brought a lot of rain at the same time as blue skies. Nature!
