Yikes Lightening Strike

A big and fast thunder and lightening and rain storm passed through on Monday night and my CABLE based internet has been off until just now, Tuesday at 1:30. I thought the guy was going to have to come out to replace the modem, but apparently it's okay. At any rate, I am way behind in commenting on the comments on my own posts and in commenting on everyone elses posts. I'll try to catch up soon. Be well, Suki

O dear!
When it is lightning I always turn my computers off.
Here we have had rain cold weather rain, wind rain and more rain!
It is like autumn, a season I don't like at all. Worst things is that Felix went on scouting camp this week.
Poor guy, I couldn't sleep monday when I heard all that rain on my window all night. Visions of his things all wet and having to suffer etc. With every rainshower I have to think of him. Hope my worries are all for no reason and that is having fun..........
Hope that nice sunny weather you had before is coming back there. (and here as well)
Love >M<

Marianne, my computer was off. The lightning actually struck the outside cable line and thus the whole street was out. Thank goodness it didnt blow out my modem. From now on though, i will disconnect the cable cord at the wall when it storms.

Britt, I feel much the same way (nutso) when my car doesnt work. With the internet, I just tried to do other things and not think about it as I knew they were working on it.

Cris, I am slowing carrying out my Dad's books and records and replacing them with my paper goods. I am only doing a few things inside right now as I still want to do the messy painting and wax stuff outside in the workshop until it gets too cold. I dont think the damp will hurt them. But actually all this moving again has set me off working except I painted my sign a little.

Marianne, hope your rain goes away and that your son has fun anyway on his camping trip. Maybe he will take it all as an exciting challenge.

Whew! SO glad it didn't blow your modem.

The internet is like my car,,,I want it there, waiting for me, whether I want to use it or not.
I spend too much time online when my Boyfriend is out of town, (as now.) I visit museums, galleries,,art websites, read about lost ancient cities unearthed,,,,,lots of news.Oh, and of course Blogs.
#:-D

Sometimes though, it's nice being at the lake, with no access available. I spend more time in the books.

Babs, I know what you mean about spending so much time on the "net. And wanting it to be there whether you use it or not. I esp. used it a lot in the winter. There is so much interesting stuff out there. But when I went to Cape Cod to visit, and they said I could use their computer, I said no thanks. I'm on vacation from computers too.

Sarah, sorry about your modem. thank goodness it wasn't the modem for me. I don't know how much it costs to replace it as with my server company I think I'm just renting it. Though not really sure.

It's so unsettling when that happens. It's happened to me and it makes me realize how much I LOVE connecting with other bloggers. When I can't, I miss it so.

San it's so true. I love connecting with other bloggers too. In the old days, 30 years ago, I used to write lots and lots of letters. In fact my friends and I published a bk of our letters under pseudonyms. But somehow I dont write letters anymore. Really I don't even email very much. So what is it about blogging??? I don't know, but i'm addicted.
