Sun oh wonderful sun

This weekend we had two glorious hot, sunny days. The wild blackberries are ripening.

I finally indulged in a lounge chair. I love to just sit here and read and sip iced tea. Right in the sun.

A friend gave these to me. She bought a pair for each of us. We were 5, in a women's meditation and spirituality group on Cape Cod. Fabulous group. (Please forgive my feet, I walk barefoot most of the time and my feet get "dirty.")

Lest you worry I might be endangering myself, I coat my legs and arms with lotion. The zinc oxide causes me to look ghostly.

Hey Suki,

Sweet toes! :) Ah, now I am getting a mental image of you sunning yourself and just soaking up the sun! What a lovely image, I have to say.

Thanks Suki...may your days be warm, sunny and absolutely stunning!

I cant believe your black berries are fruit already. we are still waiting for all the ones around here to finish blooming into fruit.
We have lots of wild black berries around here. We glean lots every summer and I have made freezer jam. might do so this year too as we got a steamer and can steam out the seeds.
Love the shoes.. how fun are they.
Glad you are enjoying the summer. Little by little I think you are settling in there. :)

Hi Babs, not sure why these berries, in partial shade, are ripe while the ones in the sun are not, but they are yummy. I know the store bought ones are like luxury items.

Andrea, sorry about grey Paris skies. Today is sunny too but very humid so not quite as pleasant. I like a dry heat myself.

My toes say hello to all the Parisian toes.

Thanks Annie. I am enjoying it.

Paula that would be pretty funny. A feet day. Bloggers de Feet.

Thanks KIm. Not sure if I have enough berries for a pie, but they are delicious on my cereal.

Cris, it is surprising our berries are ahead of yours by so much. That's a puzzle. Everyone is picking strawberries too but that's at the pick your own place.

Went for a walk this morning and found that there are berrys forming but it will be a couple weeks before they are ready to pick to eat. Interesting isnt it and yes we are eating strawberries in our yard already.

How wonderful for you Suki!
I LOVE your slippers! And your feet look just fine. I can't walk barefoot, they hurt.
I have to do that too, just sit in my lounge chair with a book, thanks for reminding me.
Hope much more of that weather is coming your way!

Hello Human Being. I know i have not yet visited your new post. I will. Have been lagging behind. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Suki

Oh Cris, strawberries in your yard. My brother said the blueberries are starting to form but I've got to get them before the birds do.

Hi Marianne, well it is good to take a lounge chair break, I always think. It's one of my most favorite things to do. Take care, Suki

Wonderful berries - I am jealous! I had been wanting a lounge chair myself, and found one at a yard sale last weekend for a dollar. But I think I like yours better - mine is too low to the ground. Well -not as if I can't keep looking for an upgrade!

Hi! Glad you are enjoying your summer. Love the berries, and as a readhead, I can relate to the zinc oxide (: Those berries have a lovely colour to their juice, I discovered once picking wild ones, hands stained reddish purple, and got some on my shirt, thankfully tie dye, which was quite permanent. Their juice would make a nifty dye for some handmade paper! I saw your book Marianne had purchased and featured on her blog- fabulous! Much love, and infinite blessings.

Hi Natalya. I try to grab the sun rays when they come out which hasn't been often this summer.

Sixty-five, I would have tried for a yard sale lounge chair myself but up here yard sales are far and few between and mostly feature childrens toys kinda thing. It is frustrating really as on Cape Cod all summer you have yard sales all over the place and really great stuff at some of them. Hmmm berries. Now I have to go out and check my bro's cultivated blueberry bushes. Yum.

Quiche, thank you so much for your comments on my altered book. Actually I spent one summer using berries, though not blackberries, and other plant matter to color my handmade papers. The colors came out rather pale but I imagine with different plants that would change. It was fun. Have a peaceful summer. Suki

Dear Suki, I've been gone a month from being able to keep up with all the blogs...but here now, and glad to see your happily enjoying summer and all it's treats.

I'll wait till later to repsond to the "death question" below. Sorry about your SIL. I wish I could send her my relaxation CD. (give address/will send)it might help with her anxiety.

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Yes, I too saw the sisterly likeness in Cris and myself. It sure felt like meeting an old friend again.

Now those are some cool sandels... where can I get me some of those??? though I'm not sure that I'd survive long in my tough spot neighborhood with those on my feet!!!

Hope you're still getting nice sunny days...

Popping in from Mim's destruction of part of Earth's ant population...

Have to say that I love your new sandles and jealous of your lounging and reading! Hope you enjoyed your day! Kayce

Lynn dear, what a brilliant idea. A relaxation CD. OK. I used to have an ocean waves tape but it's gone. I'll email you. Thanks. Glad you are home again and back to the old routine as a new person.

Hopper, yet I dare say even in a not tough neighborhood i think you'd be in for it walking around in those flipflops. Even I am a tad timid about wearing them other than at home.

KC Well, maybe you need to take an hour or so to lounge. the sandals are pretty funny. Loved Mim's ant destruction post. Quite clever, well not the actual destruction but the newsletter from the ant rescue society.

Human Being. I do like to comment though on my friends posts. Not an obligation but just I guess it is part of my routine now and so I don't like to miss out on anyone or any post. My own neurotic passions I guess.

Mary flip flops were a great invention. Check out Katie Jane's blog for some fused glass flip flops.
