My friend draped the wisteria vines over the top of this arbor. Underneath the arbor is an outdoor shower. Petals are scattered all over the place as you stand under the violet heavens and scrub up!OK. Today is the interview. Kim is such an angel, asking such good questions to evoke interesting answers from myself and others (see other interviews in Kim's sidebar). Thank you Kim.

I am half way thru the interview. havent had a lot of time this morning to just sit here but I got to what are your favorite books. What an interesting life you have had. one thing you should know.. about your photos. I take my memory card into walmart when it is full and get it onto a disk they arent to expenive and you have negatives so to speak. Your photos should be preserved for projects. cards or something.

you asked me about the cats eating the birds. We never let them out. they are indoor cats. They have so much room in here and cost less to maintain healthwise. so the birds are safe.
Also I havent been saving my rose petals would you like them if I did? I forgot you used them in your colleges.
oh PS I will finish that interview when I have another moment. she has done such a wonderful job so far.
Forever Young, yes, I do like to talk about my life. Perhaps because my family does not talk. I know next to nothing about my Mom's dad and very little about her early years. Ditto my dad though I knew his mom and dad, yet Dad never said much about his life. So ,I make up for it.
Cris, it is a long interview as I do tend to go on with my answers. I have never used a memory card. maybe I should get one. I always just take the 25 pictures that the camera will hold and then download them onto the computer.
Oh, I thought you let your cats out. I do and prob. a few birds have hit the dust because of that.

Suki, I read your interview and loved it. I learned so much about you. Don't fret too much about living a simple, but rich life and not putting away for the future. We have worked hard all our married life and still have not been able to put much away. This, too, is a fear of mine. We have no children to look after us when we are unable to look after ourselves and costs are rising even as we speak.

cool interview... lots of things about you i'd never have guessed... i feel like you've lived some of the experiences i admire most about your generation (Beat theory) and Ginsberg, Kerouac, Lew Welsh, lots of these types, have had a big influence on me (though I am born well after)... I'm so happy you took the time to do the interview...
I was thinking also that you should open up to your writing side again... I know you said that you feel like something is lacking from keeping the seriousness of the works in mind but do you think that perhaps this is your own self-criticism rather than how others may percieve the writing... I for one would LOVE to read some of your short stories and longer fiction... is there any in print that I might find???

Hi Katie Jane. I guess it benefits no one to live in fear of the future as we never know what will evolve in life. I have a son but he may or may not be able to care for me. He's spent many years caring for his dad. I guess we have to live each moment with joy and pray for the best, i know that sounds like a cliche but it is what I try to do with occasional mental slip ups.

Hopper,I love those aspects of my generation too and am so glad I had the courage to lIVE and have adventures back then. Though I'm still having adventures, only less exciting and dramatic. Thank you so much for the encouragement to write. It definitely is self-criticism that in part halts me. With my writing I desire perfection. Somehow with my crafts and painting i can more or less let go of that desire. But I also sometimes wonder if something really did happen to my writing mind. although I had fun writing my part of the interview. and as I told Kim, I love to edit. We shall see. I have several longer pieces sitting around unfinished. Unfortunately my stories were all in small press mags years ago, and the book is out of print. I've been playing now and again with short segments partly about SF and other life eras so if I start on that again maybe I can share. Thanks for asking and for reading the interview, Jon. City Lights...you brought back lots of memories for me...all your adventures in the world of writing and art (papermaking, collage, painting, etc.) is exciting and inspirational to read about. Thanks for being so honest and forth coming.
I do hope you find the way to stay solvent in your later years. You made that part sound scary. Am hoping there is something in the cosmos that is coming your way to make it a pleasant rest of the jounrey.
Lynn thanks for you comments. Well, one thing I am is forthcoming about my life stories. I think because my entire family is so closed mouthed about their stories. They don't talk. Yikes. So, I have to make up for it. :) Truth is none of us really have any assurances about anything. However, some of you out there set things up a little better than i have. Apparently anyway. You never know.
Those were really good questions. I appreciate how open you were. I like getting a fuller view of who you are.
