Book Giveaway Bookbinding How-to

I have an extra copy of this great book on bookbinding. It was the first book I used to learn. If you want to participate in a chance to own this book leave a comment on this post. On Thursday the giveaway will end. I will write the participants names on pieces of paper, place them in a hat, and have mom pick one. I'll announce the winner on Friday. See post below for another give-away. You can participate in both if you like.

What a kind and generous thing to do! Of course, it's not surprising from someone such as yourself!
Don't take up space in the hat with my name, as I don't think I would use it,,,but I'm sure lots of others would!
What a giving person!
(Applause, applause)

thanks Babs. I love to give things away esp to someone who wants it (as opposed to the way you sometimes buy gifts for people and they don't want it.)

Suki, you are an amazing person! I have to say I completely agree with Babs here! This is a completely kind and generous thing to do.

I am interested in this book for my daughter, but I want you to give other people the chance on this one. I am also going to send some people your way on my blog today.

And anyone else reading here...visit my blog to see more of Suki's beautiful generosity!

Kim, anyone can enter the contest, even folks who never comment. So, I'll certainly put in your name for your daughter.

Hi Suki,
Yes, this is a great idea of a give-away. If I come across anyone interested in book-binding I may send them your way.

FYI: I don't use the acrylic frisket. I have read, as you mentioned, that the acrylic liquid frisket is difficult to remove. Being in graphics, I have rubber cement on hand... that's what I use. I have briefly mentioned it's use on my blog in a previous post... but it's a little something I don't go into detail about, I tend to keep it's use under my hat. - Well... now, all that reads this knows. (smile)

This would actually be a great gift for my husband (another entry). Enjoying your blog -- we have some of those irises (just now fading) in our neighbourhood common garden areas (i.e. the traffic circles and extended curbs) and I have been doing my darnedest to find a local farmer's market that works with my schedule.

Add me! I just started bookbinding last year, and have a LOT to learn! Thank you!

Chewy, Actually now you mention it I recall your saying that about rubber cement. I used to use it a lot to glue up my greeting cards till I discovered the items were not permanently glued on but peeled of easily. I will try it for a frisket, as it is way cheaper too than official frisket. Thanks for sharing one of your secret ingredients.

Andrea and Eliza thanks for stopping by. I'll add your names to the hat.

Suki, that's so funny cause I got this book in my own library! I love it that we have this in commen. In fact is was a book which belonged to my stepdaughter's mom, (who sadly passed away) and I happily "adopted" it and is has inspired many of my experimental "carnets" I did when I went back to artschool!
have a wonderful day, and the winner will be lucky to have this book:)
love
Andrea

Thanks for stopping by Ikkinlala. I'll add your name to the hat.

Andrea, that is a coincidence. I'm sorry your stepdaughter's mom passed away. How sad. But how lovely that you have kept some of her books. Be well, Suki

Suki, I looke at one of the assembled papers for a collage, the one with the photo of a young women, and read on the card: see you on Saturday evening June 13th, and then I look at the stamp which says 1908!
What a great collage this will be, holding lives and emotions from so many years ago...like enclosed in a very transparent crystal,
love
Andrea

I know I love the backs of the post cards with the dates and messages. Although then I loose the front picture but guess I could xerox the card and have a copy of the front or vice versa. The baby with the cowboy hat is dated 1911. Hey, he could still be alive. By the by my Mom, bro and I are all post card collectors. My bro has incredible cards, amazing messages on the backs and pictures on the front. Most cherished by me are hand painted post cards. also old Paris, New Hampshire, Cape Cod pc's.
