A walk around the field

Even though it has been 70 plus degrees on several days, there is still snow in a few spots.

I circled the pond seeking the turtle and finally spotted him on this rock. But as I moved closer, plunk. Later I noticed the tip of his nose sticking up beyond the rock like a weed.

The little house is slowly disintegrating.

I almost stepped in this burrow. Can you see it beyond the leaf? The dark area? I wonder if it burrows into the little house?

One the tree branch, left hand side, are some red leaves coming out.

Suki,
these photos are just marvelous... as i watched them one by one i could feel the serenity and quiet of the pond and its surrounding land... i heard the plunk when the turtle plunged in the pond... i could hear the cracking sound of the dried twigs under my feet ...and some distant sounds from a bird...
see... your pictures told me more than what one can see in them...
:)
a lovely short trip.. thanks...

my favorite one is the last one because of its composition.

This place is incredibly peaceful. And more amenable to my personality now it is spring. There must be a reason i am here with no people, trees, a pond, a field and the quiet. It is the twigs and leaves that warn the turtle of my approach. I will keep trying to capture him/her though.

Suki! Spring is on the way! You do still have some winter memories up there! I really should do some photos of our yard for everyone to see as we are popping out with blossoms around here. Maybe later this week it will work out for my blog. We have had lots of rain lately.

Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful photos of transition...special times of our life.

Spring is popping out all over there. :) About time too. Altho we have the flowers of spring we still have the weather of winter. Go figure. Love the last photo. In the water you can see more green trees then when your not looking into the water.

PS. Thanks for your comment on my blog. The life station on the river is the owners personal station. Its a good place to sit and watch the River & the boat races we have once a year and they could possibly have a boat as many do that live on the River.

These are nice pictures. I wish I was able to see the turtle. I'm also attempting to read 50 books before the year's end, but it probably doesn't help when I attempt things like Kant's philosophy and The Bible, which would take forever to read.

Suki, you live in a paradise! I used to have a pond on my property before we moved, and it was such a source of entertainment and education. I love the wild and your pictures capture it wonderfully.

Such beautiful surroundings Suki! The pictures are wonderful and made me want to go on a nature walk too.

Wow, so many lovely comments. It is a sort of paradise once the snow is gone, Katie Jane but basically I thought it was agony here in the winter.

Patti, a nature walk is just the thing.

San and Clandestine Samurai, thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

Cris I hadn't noticed the green in the reflection. Thanks.

Kim I am answering this AFTER you have posted the pics of your beautiful blooming yard. Lovely. Spring is a miracle. That it returns each year seems magical to me esp now that I am older.

Happy Spring to everyone. Suki

That would be fun Marianne, to shoot a movie here right in my own back yard. I'd be game as long as they let me be in it.!! I'm a closet ham. Be well, suki
