Aubade

hopper offered a poetic challenge to write about dawn.

Sunrise offers me
an empty bowl
to fill each day.

so beautiful and thought-provoking... normally we expect to receive something from life... but here this is us who should give... to fill in the empty bowl...

what an enigmatic twist... and so succintly expressed... an awakening blow to our ignorance...

and yes... this is dawn.... the time we are awakened...
Suki....wow... it is an ocean in just one tiny drop...
Namaste!

human being, thank you so much for seeing so much in such a little poem. Actually the empty bowl image is a Buddhist thing. The monks walk about with an empty bowl and folks in the neighborhood fill it with food for them. But i thought the shape of the sun and the shape of the bowl resonated.

But as always, you see so much more hb. Namaste.

Thanks Andrea.
