Anam Cara by John O'Donohue

"There is a wellspring of love within yourself." John O'Donohue.

A meditation. "Focus on the well at the root of your soul. Imagine that nourishing stream of belonging, ease, peace and delight. Feel, with your visual imagination, the refreshing waters of that well gradually flowing up through the arid earth of the neglected side of your heart."

He recommends doing this meditation before you sleep

very nice quote--thank you for sharing! and Happy Easter! May the new growth of spring and the hope that is rising from the ground to touch the sky touch your heart as well. ;-)

I hope your doing well today and this helps you. You have done wonderful things for your Mom the last few months.. so I hope you dont keep feeling guilty over her condition. You did the best you could. We need to tell people what we need and feel. Forget hints. We aren't mind readers.
Thinking of you as you go thru this ordeal with your Mom and SIL.
Hugs

Thanks Mary for your beautiful words. There is a wonderful feeling in the air as winter departs. And new growth appears.

Thanks cris for affirming the small things i have done with and for mom in the last months. I am so glad I have been here. Be well, Suki

Suki, this is so soothing.
It's 5:45 pm (not the time to sleep)but i'm going to shut down the computer and meditate on this image. I've always loved 'WELL'.

Thanks for sharing this. Your soul is so giving like a well ... full of fresh water to quench acrid soil.

Suki, this is another great photograph of yours. And the meditation sounds good, so complicated for me to remember. But I should try, because I often wake up at 4 in the morning and then, when reflection sets in, find it so difficult to get back to sleep. I guess you know this state of mind. This mediation sounds as it it could sooth.
Hope your Mom is better!
Hugs
Andrea

I shall practice this meditation in just a few moments, for I am soon to bed.

I must say I have found doing this meditation very soothing. Andrea, perhaps just simplify the "directions" in your mind to make it easier to do.

The old pump is at a house down the road.

Thanks everyone on your refelctions around the pump.
