Hands

I worked on the corn, hand and one of the bean vines yesterday.
And a bit on the face which isn't melded in yet. I watched a video last night about Cezanne and looked at the gorgeous self-portrait he did. And sighed at the blandness of this painting but oh well I am me.
The hand is better than it was. I need a model I said to myself. Then thought, oh yes, take a photo of my own hand. So I did.

This idea is from Carol at Paris Breakfasts. You put the photo you want to paint from on your desktop. That way it is enlarged. I think this may help me with the fingers which are indefinite in the original photo I am painting from.

Funny how we learn things from each other. This is turning out to be very nice indeed. Yes it is YOU. We can't be and shouldn't be carbon copies of others.

thanks both human being and cris. makes me want to continue on to the conclusion. Y'day went to purchase more stretcher strips and gesso. So ready to stretch a few more canvases and start a new painting.

This is lovely, and I see NOTHING bland here. Only Cezanne can be Cezanne, you have your style and it is great! Keep going. I too am enjoying watching your progress.

Glad you found some oils - will be interesting to see how that goes too :-)

Great idea, putting the photo on the desktop. I just have to grab my own laptop:)
I love this painting, Suki. I so love the colour combinations you are using here! And your hands are beautiful and so are your rings!
