Rose petals and the robe

I have to work on at least two things at once to allow time for layers of paint to dry. I had an idea about the robe too. I have in the past "made" a paper by gluing lots of rose petals to a sheet of rice paper. I want to create a shape out of rose petals on this robe in the center. So far though I only have a few petals.
Currently the proposed shape will be that laid out by the pink rice paper. I will use my handmade paper beads and pearls (fake). I scanned the net for rose petal sites. 8 cups of rose petals can cost up to and beyond $16. I guess people use them for weddings. The rose petals I've used in the past have just been ones I've collected from bushes. As you can see I also painted the robe in a wash of ochre and then one section with iridescent white.

Hi dearest Suki.
Thanks for the thoughtful words on that poem. I appreciate your frankness and sincerity.
Iran is on the northern hemisphere so here it is cold, too; but not that much icy ... not yet. In any season you can find lots of roses and other flowers in some gardens and flowershop... think they are not as expensive as in the U.S.A.
Wish you rosy days...

I love rose petals and the way you painted the robe, I hope too that you will find lots of rose petals somewhere. Perhaps in a flower shop, from roses they did not sell? What are they doing with those, anyway?
Lots of LAndrea

thank you human being, andrea and cris. Oh, I'd love your big basket of rose petals human being. You are so kind and generous.

Yes, I might find some dropped petals at a flower shop. I remember being in the city and seeing a flower shop person sweeping huge mounds of petals into the street.

Meanwhile my mom had some roses in her birthday bouquet and as soon as they fade I can use them.

Hi there--I think I have lots of dried rose petals I pressed and saved for papermaking. They are red, maroon and pink. If you would like them email me with your address and I'll see if I can find them in the studio and mail them off to you. By the time I will use them I will have dried and pressed more! Lovely projects you're working on. Being alone up in the hinterlands seems to be good for your creativity even if other parts of it are making you a bit stir crazy!
