melting snow person and many blessings

My blessings:

I have shelter, food, warm clothes.

I have many friends both nearby and far away

I am healthy knock on wood

I am involved with my family: my mom, my brother and SIL, my son after many years of not being actively involved with them or only occasionally involved.

I live in a place of beauty

I have talents and am using them

I have books to read, movies to watch and music to listen to

My beloved cats are here with me

I practice my beloved yoga every day and thank the day I found yoga

I am being challenged on many levels to become a more patient person. I am seeing how I became who I am via watching and listening to my mom, my brother and my son.

I can be amused by it all and saddened by it all

I have trust in the present moment and faith that the future will turn out as it will. I can let go of fear and worry. All will be well. Namaste, Suki

Lovely writing. Yes we have many things to be thankful for and we dont always realize it. Sounds like you are getting a chance to realize it. I have much to be thankful for & all my new blog friends are part of that. Thanks Suki for always faithfully checking out my blog. Your comments have helped keep me going.
Whose building is that in your photo with the snowman?

Hi dearest Suki,
My heart always brims with joy when I see appreciative people like you... This post was full of light.I think the more we talk about the good things we have, the more they increase... and you know this secret...
Unfortunately this is not the dominant trend in my country...and when you want to talk about such attitude toward life , you are rejeted angrily ... Think long years of war and threat have made them bitter and also some how materialistic! But I never give up...
This post along with the previous one and also the happy pictures were the best things one could start a new year with...
Thanks for dropping in my blog... I'm always grateful for having an insightful and kind friend like you.
Namaste.

the ending of one year and the beginning of another a chance to do better an opportunity to take stock...reading human beings words makes me wonder just how materialistic I was/am...as I buy more books here in MN (all about crafting) and fabric for more projects to be...but that is the only way I think of buying THINGS...otherwise, it's people, places, sights, experiences...fullfilling life today...now...and hoping for PEACE/Shalom for everyone everywhere in this wonderful world of ours...we here are blessed not to have war on our own land, but too many losses to the war our president got us into...lots to be sad about...
Now back to my now and appreciating the friendships here, the intelligent words, the wisdom about life and how to live it...

Thanks for all that...and then some.

Cris, the snowman is in front of the house down the road with three children.

Thank you each and every one for reading my blessings and wishing me and thee more.

Dear human being. Another blessing is that I live in a country with no war on its soil at the moment. When I think of so many, worldwide, who have guns and fighting and dying every day, I am sad. I think one does become perhaps so shocked and traumatized by all the death and destruction that one can become bitter and unwilling to see a glass half full rather than half empty. I am not sure i could see my blessings so fully were i living in a war torn place.

My parents went through the depression, much less traumatic than a war but traumatic, and Mom had a traumatic and difficult childhood and I think that is part of what made them so sort of "grim" and pessimistic in their world view.

I spent years in therapy and also doing meditation and yoga and reading many books about pop psycology to help me turn around my proclivity to view the glass half empty and sometimes I fall back into that perpective.

But I try now to see and appreciate my blessings for they are many and in truth one has a choice about how one views life. Any one event can be seen so many different ways, why not choose to see the positive.

Dear Suki,
Now that I've read about your parents experience in the Depression period(I'VE READ ABOUT IT IN AMERIACAN HISTORY) and also about your struggle to achieve this positive attitude, I think I love you even more...
You know, I think people who do not accept the things as they are and try to change them (their attitudes and moods among them) are real heroes...
A big hug...

thanks human being and Lynn. Lynn, have done a lot of work so to speak on myself and hope it sticks.

human being I am impressed that you have read about American History in what sounds like a school course?. For my part I know next to nothing about Iranian history and as far as i know nothing much about it is taught in school except maybe on the college level. Not in lower level programs though. Thanks for telling me what year it is in Iran.

Thank you again dearest Suki.
Since i studied English literture in the university, I felt I should also study a bit of English, American, Australian, etc. history to understand English literature better.
History let us know about a nation's good and bad actions and literature familiarizes us with its soul....
