Holiday Reds

Went to a florists to buy Mom and SIL a pointsettia. They add a cheerful coloring to this dull black and white world.
I couldn't resist this in bloom Christmas cactus either.
View from the florists looking across the river.
On the way home I stopped by this stream. I love streams in the snow.

Mom has not been feeling well. Her legs are weak from the little bug she's had, which is a little nervewrecking due to she may be more likely to fall. This morning I woke up thinking maybe I could convince Mom to go to Florida where it's warm. Big joke. Even I have never been to Florida but then I wasn't living here in Siberia either. I'd be willing to give it a try. The sun. The beaches. The heat.

Very nice winter shots. I especially like the ones with water (liquid water, I mean), and just the tiniest smidge of color.

Also admired the ones of tracks in previous post.

Beautiful shots. love the white house on the frozen water.. and the pretty reds. I used to have pretty Xmas cactuses and sure do miss them but I didnt have success with them here. Maybe I keep the sunroom to hot in the day time.
HOpe your mom gets better. Yes it is scary about falling in that condition.

Hi Suki, wonderful winter images! Snow is beautiful yet makes life a bit more difficult, I agree, especially when your legs are not very "stable". I hope your mom will feel better soon!
About the heat: I guess heat can be nasty too when you are getting older, (unless you stay the whole day in an airconditioned room...) what do you think?
Have a good day, enjoy it.

thanks all for comments. Andrea heat does bother mom in the summer. HOwever she keeps the rooms in this house at about 80 degrees in the winter. If it were that hot in the summer she would have air conditioning blasting. No logic to it.

In Florida the winter heat is only about 60-70 degrees, not the horrid heat of summer in Florida.

Love the across the road shot...is that a big motel perhaps?
Wonderful flowers to see too. So festive!
