Finished cheese cake

Please take a slice! Enjoy.

So today is the birthday celebration. The meal is at 1 pm like a Sunday brunch. That's so we'll be done in time for me to drive my son back to his place before dark. Hard for me to see to drive in the dark and the road is a long one with only trees along it, no people.

I don't know why I'm so nervous about this celebration. There will only be me, mom and my son and maybe my brother for a bit. I've been a little under the weather with an ear ache and raw throat. Taking Echinacea and Astragalus. But it is my thoughts that do me in. Insomnia and then I worry that I won't be able to do this meal cooking and partying. I know these are just thoughts but at night it is hard to let them go somehow.

The cold weighs down on you up here. 'Course there are some who love it and ski and ice skate and snowmobile and who knows what else in the cold and snow. Not myself. I am a bit grumpy this morning I guess.

Anyway, thanks to all who sent happy birthday to Mom wishes and Lynn happy birthday to your daughter and brother. Be well all. Suki

The cake came out perfectly and oh so pretty with the red drippings down the sides. Artist you are even in cake baking! Happy birthday again to Mom! I hope all enjoyed and it was fun being together. Hope you are feeling better too. And that the ride wasn't too much for you.

Hey, I was COLD today! It was sunny and COLD. DH had to keep warming my poor freezing hands. I was too stubborn to take mittens and a hat as he suggested. Next time, I promise, I will be less stubborn! He suggested I leave a set in the car! Good idea.

Hope tomorrow goes well for you. Maybe you can stay in and create and stay warm.
