Rice paper, acrylic, music sheet, writing from an 1870's log, copy of photo of my Gram and her sisters and mom in HATS, handmade paper beads. I found an old handwritten logbook from some Boston society in the 1800's at a yard sale and purchased it for a couple of dollars. The cover was gone but it was the pages I wanted and I have used then a # of times for the marvelous handwriting.
My gram is the second from the left. My great-gram is the last on the right. Remember you can click on photo to enlarge.

This is cool. I love the photo on it too. I love those old time photos with the ladies wearing hats. This is something to treasure. What would you do with this now? put in a frame or hang it as is? I love the old writing added to things too.
this is my big problem. How to hang these things. I probably if I'm ambitious add a string to the back so the recipient can hand it unframed as I didn't leave a border for matting or framing.
Oh I did enlarge it...I thought it was my family from Russia! Beautiful, all of it brought together so nicely. And you added your paper beads again. This really came together well Suki.
Suki this is a beautiful collage, I like how you put everything together, the colours and the textures are in harmony. Love the beads and the hats of your grams! Big like carriage-wheels. A string on the back sounds good.
Looks great! I love the layering of the different papers. Sounds like you're reaching out in the community, always a good thing, especially with a long northern winter sneaking up on you.
WOW, those hats are amazing! Fabulous to see your ancestors too.
