paper beads

I have been making paper beads. I read about it in a magazine called Cloth, Paper, Scissors. (Click on magazine name in upper right hand corner.) You take a rectangular or triangular piece of any paper and glue it up with acrylic medium except for the bottom 1/2 inch.
Roll the bead up tight using a straw. When rolled, remove the straw.
walla
Last step is to decorate the beads. I mostly only have paint to decorate with though could use some threads or wire if I get some. But the article had all kinds of other decorating doodads one could use.

I found this magazine in the store last month and bought it. It was I think the beginning of my giving myself permission to be my own creative self (out of the box, outside the lines, etc) kind of creator. I loved it. It was so freeing and forgiving and allowing. There are many wonderful things in that issue Sept/October. I keep looking for the next one!

Yes, making the beads is fun. Kinda meditative. I haven't been able to find another copy of the mag in a store. Thanks for all the comments.

Suki, that is a great idea, your beads look wonderful! I have to try this. I was going to get a subscription of the Quilt Art magazine and the cissor magazine! (cause you can't get them here in a store) in a rush when suddenly I had the good idea of having an oline look at my bank account!!! Erps. Ok. I prefer to stick with your fabulous descriptions:) thank you for sharing the process!
