I made a bet with my guy that the potential new landlady would NOT call us and offer the house a second time. I lost.
Sooooooo-looks like I'll soon be signing a lease committing myself to spending a veritable fortune for a house that I think will be great, for people and for cats. Frankly, I'll be glad to get out of an apartment and into a private residence. I look forward to having a washer and dryer, a fireplace, a cat door/window so I do not have to be letting the cats in and out all day and a workroom. Also a fairly private yard where I can do my favorite activity--lie in my lawn chair in the sun.
Next step--earn some money.
