On Tuesday I am having my abscessed tooth pulled by an oral surgeon. I have been through some debate as to whether to use simple Novocain or use general anesthesia. The dentist highly recommends the anesthesia, although this may be for his convenience. Ie: he is assured the patient will not toss and turn and leap etc. If I wanted to go the simple Novocain route, I would have to change dentists and wait another two months for an appointment.
The tooth will be hard to pull and will come out in pieces. It already has a crown and root canal pin in it. Plus there are three roots. Ah well. I am a coward. My worst fear is I will die from the drugs. So I will write a note to my son just in case.
My brother will drive me. It is required by law that you not drive yourself when you have had anesthesia. I could also have a fibroma removed from inside my mouth while I am under. Monday is the last day I can decide about that.
I will get a massage on Monday to relax me. I am saving my two Netflix films to view on Tuesday or Wednesday. I also have a few books on tape. I am prepared, should I need to lie around for a few days. Now, I must make some jello, which I never eat so I dont know why I think I will post-tooth event. And maybe some pudding. Which I do eat.
Not looking forward to this. I could have chosen to "save the tooth" via two other options. Nowadays few dentists recommend tooth pulling when the tooth can be saved. It was my idea to have it pulled.
Oh well, That's life.
