Healing home and heart

Holes in the wallboard created by mold people after the washing machine flood.

They also cut a hole in the bedroom floor to see if there were two layers of underflooring.  This meant I could not use the room for two years till now.  Here you see the patchwork done on the hole.

 Carerra Marble (LOL) vinyl tiles.

 Bibs slept through it all.

The bedroom with my Claire Murray seashell and seahorse rug.

It cost a fortune but I swear the area is warmer.  And certainly more attractive.  Now for the wall painting which I can do myself.  I love to paint walls.

This simple repair healed a wound.  Both in the house/trailer.  And in my heart.  I held resentment that my brother did not repair the damage in the trailer he owned.  That he let me live in its ugliness.  Now the ugliness is healed.  The healing in my heart will follow.

How elegant your words, suki. I can feel your healing from here. I am so very glad. What I hear and feel is that the past can now be put to rest.

Such good news and the repairs, paint and beautiful rug make it 'right' again. You are doing healing work for yourself...binding wounds. What color walls?

probably white walls. these are dark areas of the trailer and besides i've always favoured white

Am so glad that you found healing through all this disruption. If you're like me, I don't like long term disruption in my home space. It unsettles me. I hear a settledness in your words, and am glad you are finding healing - reclaiming your "space" so-to-speak... :)

I can understand that. It is good to put it behind you now. I would be mentally fuming at my brother too. Something which I DO do on occasion :)

Cris's words are perfect. (Or to *quote* Bibs - PURRFECT!) Healing does bring peace - and strength and the ability to move forward....

I am so proud of you! The room looks great - the carpet is BEAUTIFUL!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and Bibs!

Beautiful symbolism Suki!
I am happy for you you are healing.
And this illustrates so well you healed yourself. You took the initiative ;)Take things into your own hands.
And how good it is much warmer now. You need that too.
White walls will be great!
Take care dear and enjoy these steps

What a lovely room! White will be perfect...it sweeps the old away and brings fresh beginnings.

Years ago, as I was healing from a divorce, I painted almost the whole house white, with billowy white curtains...it was like whitewashing and releasing the past! xx
