Gravity

Gravity

Under the weight of air
her flesh forms valleys
and mountains.
Mushrooms sprout
on the surface of her skin.
A mouse sneezes in her left lung
and behind green eyes
John Henry wields his hammer.

The earth whirls
the ground tips, totters
her glasses lost, she fumbles.
In her pocket awaits a key
but where is the lock?

Her heart in its nest sings foolishly.

Last line is from Linda Gregg's poem Alma in the Dark.

Another gem, dear Suki! Lovely imagery... I especially like the wordplay in the title from Ms. Gregg's poem "Alma in the Dark"....as you know, "Alma" means "Soul".

Oooh....I can echo Lo - "See you SOON"!

Love to you and Bibs,

♥ Robin ♥

The image is there, the scene, the sensations, the character--a shock of recognition at what has already come and what might very well arrive...while my heart is still singing in its nest.

Again, I am amazed by the complexity of the emotions your poetry invokes, as well as the vivid images it conjures.

I know I left a comment here earlier. Blogger is giving me such headaches!

I said the same as all before me here, so I'll just add: ditto!

(and hope Blogger performs)
