You may remember this red Ganesh I bought in Brattleboro at Adivasi, the Indian store. A friend on Cape Cod saw it on my blog and bought one on-line. She wanted to visit the store in person so she and another friend drove up the Friday before the hurricane.
I joined them in Brattleboro and we had lunch at Amy's Bakery and visited a few shops. It is so heartwarming to reconnect with old friends. And they kindly asked me about my life and house search. My spirit was refreshed a hundred times ten by our fun afternoon.
On Saturday I went to Keene to an art fair. My long-time friend F. had a booth as she does every year. I also met a couple of new to me artists whose work I really liked. Erika Radich is a print maker. She took some of her prints and made books out of them. I love the prints and this book style which I have never tried.
You fold a rectangular page into fourths, then cut the middle three squares in the center and the accordion fold it, sort of. Anyway I want to try this style of a book from one sheet of paper. Of course these are extra-special because they have the beautiful prints on them.
I also met a collage/acrylic painter from Maine, Katie Wilson. She does landscapes and figurative paintings. I was most taken by the figuratives. On her website she has a tutorial that shows how she melds the collage and the figures.
A woman came in and asked Katie if she would like to be in a gallery as she was a gallery owner. I thought this was so amazing and something many artists would love to happen to them!
I was highly stimulated by the art fair and returned home bursting with ideas. It doesnt take much to stimulate a hermit like me. I am so grateful to have dear friends like K and G who drove all the way (3 hours) to visit. And to live in an area with so many talented artists. I feel re-energized and loved anew.

Excellent day!
Nothing like an excursion with good friends to get the energies flowing, unless it's an excursion to go look at some art. Thanks for pointing the way to your newly discovered artists' websites.
more more more more more of this suki!
beyond the swirls and maybes, i think you've found the answer:
put yourself where you want to be!
and make sure there are friends to share some of it with. (dangling modifier? hee)
