On being an artist

On Being an Artist

The rose window fractured
by a fierce wind
shards on the grass
till he came along
collected the fragments
crafted a kaleidoscope

Fractured
by the tornado of life
for two years I lay on the rug
my thoughts scattered
Now I must turn my mind around
create beauty from the ruins

How well I understand those words! They ring so true for me as well.

Love Tess' Kalidescope.... love your poems.... yesterday's was also great. Your poems are so vivid in their imagery - and so powerful....

My "fabric" is enroute to add to your "Hanging Gardens"!

Love to you and Bibs,

I like how in the poem you are seizing the shards of a broken past and refashioning them into a new vision of the present. I love that concept of creating beauty from the ruins!

Another powerful piece Suki.
It's nice when we turn ruins into beauty. We always have that power even though at times all seems so lost.

The photo looks like kiwi and strawberries!
