a feast of words

Book treats from Amazon. The book about W. G. Sebald I hope will challenge my brain cells a bit. The Theorin book is a Scandinavian mystery. I adore books set in Scandinavia. I have already begun reading this one.

The Needleman book was first published in 1995, before the current money crisis yet after the one that happened in the '90's. It is supposedly based on spiritual tenets, however a brief thumb through reveals lots of blather about money of the kind that makes my eyes cross. I think if I skip to the last 1/3 though I will find some thought provoking material.

The Kripalu Cookbook also was first published in the early 90's. I bought it to help me find new recipes on my campaign to reduce my meat consumption. And because M. Heart spoke about it after her visit to Kripalu. I have been to Kripalu several times and their vegetarian meals are to die for. I have a fairly large group of vegetarian cookbooks already, but it is always fun to thumb through a new one. In fact, I don't have a large appetite, sometimes none at all, and I find thumbing through a cookbook or two whets my lacking desire and gets me going on meal preps.

The Ludwig I sort of got by mistake thinking it was her most recent book which I have on pre-order at Amazon. But this is fun to look through, although I must say after awhile the projects in these types of books start looking very much the same. I am seeking challenge.

Mmmmm.....judging by the first receipe you listed from your new cookbook, methinks I must buy this book! I don't eat red meat - but do eat chicken and fish - but, love veggies - in everything!

I, too am in love with all Scandanavia....love their films - check out Netflix - it has many good ones. I will add your book to my list...

Memory and money help..... sigh, I need that as well....

Suki - you hit it on the head (is that the correct saying?)....you NEED a challenge - something to whet your creative appetite (as well as your food appetite)!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

I have that Collaborative Art Journals book. It is an intersting read. I really liked the bit about the dolls. I am itching to make a doll for some reason. This from a person that had only one doll in her whole life and didn't play with it except to take it apart to see how it worked. Ha...

I love love love books! This looks like an interesting stack.

I find most books about visual journals to be so alike. I'm with you on needing more inspiration and challenges.

I bought a funny book from Amazon that arrived today. I'll post about it after I peruse it.

happy reading Suki!

OMG kripalu! i have been there several times too, suki, and i LOVE their food. i especially like the silent breakfasts.

300 people in a room eating breakfast without sound. it is something to be experienced, don't you think?

i would not be surprised if you and i were at kripalu at the same time. you have looked familiar to me from day one. then again, it just might be your kind face.

love love
