Shopping Spree

On Sunday I drove the back roads to Peterborough. It was a gorgeous day. I ate lunch at the diner along with a motorcycle gang. The diner was packed. Later, I bought this sheet of handmade paper in a little shop.

I also bought a pair of earrings at a little dress shop called Alice Blue which had some really sophisticated clothes. Must be for the younger generation. Alice Blue is a tint of azure favored by Alice Roosevelt Longworth (Teddy Roosevelt's daughter) . The song "Alice Blue Gown" was inspired by Longworth's signature evening gown. As learned via Wikipedia.

At the Sharon Arts Center gallery I bought a couple of little cards made from prints of Cindy Gage Stotz water color paintings.

And at the book store I bought a book by Mahfouz. When he won the Nobel prize, I read a lot of his books which were reissued in this country. So nice to find one I havent read yet. Not many people out and about, just a few plus the "gang" of about 20 motocycle folks. But a fun outing.

Pretty earrings. I love the background on Alice Blue. And a smile came to my face, as I imagined little Suki lunching with the motorcycle gang.

I was in that area yesterday too! In Antrim for a birthday party for my niece. It seemed to be a busy day in Southern NH yesterday, I'm not surprised Peterborough was hoping too.
Love those earrings!

I am so glad you spent the day out and about - and treated yourself!
I love those earrings - and they suit you perfectly!

Like Willow, I thank you for the story of "Alice Blue"....I know the name - but never knew the origin!

The cards and paper are gorgeous reminders of the season! The book looks intriguing....I will add it to my "read list".

I have a great image of you dining with the Bikers! "Suki - the Leader of the Pack"!

So glad your day was filled with fun!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

What treasures and inspiration you found on YOUR day! Don't you just love these times when you just go without any specific agenda? They are the best days for just watching and allowing the muse to flow...leading you along the path you were meant to take for that day.

It looks as though you were successful in your shopping finding great treasures. I also wonder how the bikers played in all of this? Mmmm, maybe you need a motorcycle rather than a house! LOL

Thanks for the trip alongside you on this sun filled, beautiful day!

Earrings are great...major spirit lifter as well as paper and book! A little shopping goes a long way! Are you putting a garden in this year?

What a fun day you gave yourself.
Didn't pick up one of those old biker dudes did ya?
LOL
Maybe you did I better not laugh too loud.
Love all the goodies you treated yourself to. Good for you!
Love that blue butterfly paper and wonder what you will turn it into.
The earrings are devine!
And so are the art cards.
A new author for me to explore!

Thanks for sharing your day with us. It was fun.

I cherish these kinds of days. I actually love shopping and browsing alone~it's a kind of meditation for me :)

I love what you found! I'm anxious to see if the paper gets uded in an art project. The earrings are so Bohemian...love them!
Very pretty notecards as well.

I'd say it was a successful day!
I wonder if my bro was one of the bikers!
Actually, he's a loner these days, just cruisin' without the guys.

Lolo, I assume this was some kind of club. as they were getting ready to leave (I was at an outside table so overheard) one guy gave to orders to mount up. It gave me a chuckle. There were a couple of gals on the bikes too.

Cris, NH is big on motorcycles and has a huge motorcycle roundup or something every summer.

A perfect Artist Date if you ask me, Bikies and all! And such beautiful things you found to treasure. Love that the 'Alice Blue' paper matches your flowers up top and I loved listening to JG too - thanks Suki!

Well, this sounds like a really fun day! I love days like this, where I just let the day unfold as it will. (Hey, maybe your next boyfriend was in that gang!) Rainy, windy, and cool here. I'm mostly staying indoors right now.

Mim, is there a downtown Rindge? I have only ever seen it via rt 119 which is all trees. There are some nice looking homes for sale there.
